If a Protestant can't grasp something as simple and straightforward as recognising that Peter is "this rock" in Matt 16:18, how on earth is he going to grasp the Catholic teachings on Mary?

You made the point that there are relatively few scriptures relating to Mary. I' m wondering why this is relevant. Does Mary need to be referred to a certain number of times before she is worthy of consideration?

Glark is a Catholic. Cradle Catholic, but then got lost in late teens,; then become agnostic; then a Protestant-of-sorts; then became Catholic again about twenty years ago. Will not leave my Spiritual Mother again - no chance.

A lot of Catholics love Mary - as far as I know it's not a sin to love another human being, especially when she is the Mother of God.
