    What Does Your Username Mean?

I used to be known as Cruztacean, which is a pun on both my maiden name and my astrological sign. Cruz + the crab which is a crustacean. But it's kind of closed off in a shell, and has a hardened exterior, you know? Then I met my husband, and we were lovebirds. Flying.

For Those Who Have Not Been Healed

What good parent always does what the child wants? How will children learn anything if the parent always makes life easy and takes away all of the challenges? Can there be a lesson learned in an illness or an affliction? Is God duty-bound to say yes to me every time I ask Him for something? Then...

Australia's close. I was thinking New Zealand.

USA Is it time for a woman President in the U.S.?

I'm all for a woman being President, but I'd write in a vote for myself before I'd vote for Hillary Clinton. And I'm *completely* inadequate to the task.

For Those Who Have Not Been Healed

The trouble I have with the teaching that "God will always heal if you believe," is that if the person doesn't get healed, the implication is, "You didn't believe right! You're not a good Christian!"

Minor but frustrating--how to know if something really is wrong?

Well, it's not that I'm trying to hide anything, but since he doesn't recognize that there is a problem, he's not going to ask the doctor about it. If I brought the problem to her attention myself, would that be stepping on his toes or going behind his back?

    Should children be handcuffed?

I agree with those who are saying it depends on multiple factors. The maturity level and temperament of the child, and the nature of the crime, should all be considered. I started to say "age of the child," but I changed it to "maturity level" because some 11-year-olds can be bigger and more...

Minor but frustrating--how to know if something really is wrong?

Thanks, I'll see what I can convince him to do. Maybe I can say something to his doctor privately? Or would that be going behind his back?

    My husband has pneumonia.

Better today but not well yet, thanks. :) I haven't slept more than a total of six hours in the past 48. I may need an extra prayer myself. It's physical pain making that happen, specifically my shoulder. Maybe it's from trying to do more of the chores. We had to take my nephew to the airport...

    My husband has pneumonia.

Please say a prayer for Mike, and also for me as I need to take care of him and also keep up with household needs he usually helps with. Thank you.

    What do you drive?

2006 Ford Taurus, white. She's actually my first car. I've only been licensed for about two and a half years, due to a dysfunctional background. She's the car I learned in, and she's the car I was driving when I passed. That makes her pretty special to me. I call her Jenny.

Well, I was more physically capable then.

    Best decade of your life?

40's here also. I'm 51 now, and that's shaping up to be pretty good too. Definitely NOT the teen years, despite the load of bull I was fed at the time about those being the best years of my life.

Petty things that shouldn't bother you, but they do

How about people who make major grammar or spelling errors while haughtily criticizing somebody else's grammar or spelling? One of the most common examples is talking about how others are ignorant and don't know how to use good "grammer."

Petty things that shouldn't bother you, but they do

I've got one. People who weave back and forth from lane to lane, or change across multiple lanes. Plan your route beforehand, and know what lane you need to be in before you make that turn that's coming up. Similarly, singers who are all up and down the scale while singing only one or two...

should minors be tried as adults

This is true. Even when people are forgiven, they still need to face consequences for what they did. Zaccheus was forgiven, but he still had to pay back restitution to those he stole from, and pay punitive damages as well.

Do we have the ultimate right to kill?

I believe it's right to kill if necessary, if life is in danger and it's kill or be killed, when it's in self-defense or in the defense of someone who cannot defend him/herself. That means not using undue force. Do only what you have to do, nothing more. If you have to kill that person to stop...
