So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

My car windows were under about a half inch of ice, so that was fun getting all that off. Had to shovel a 'runway' to get out, which is convenient because all I need to do is back into my spot in the road when I get home. Let the sun melt the rest!

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Hot chocolate would be good. I've had pepper infused chocolate before and that was quite good. I'd gotten the peppers from a co-worker a couple of months ago and they'd just been sitting. I did a steak and mushroom dish last night and tried a bit of it. I'll have to be a bit more liberal with...

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

Time to go out and see what we've been hit with the last couple of days. Yesterday was a day in. It's not bad outside, although it's -5c right now

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

I'll bet. It seems that other parts of Pennsylvania got hit pretty hard. Glad you got out of Chicago when you did, too.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Grinding some dried Cayenne pepper. My coffee grinder was promoted :D It doesn't have a 'pulse' setting, though, so it'll take some practice with time. The pepper is a bit fine, but I already have some coarse ground pepper.

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

I guess it's not as bad here as the east coast. They're getting it much worse. So I shouldn't complain.

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

It's been quite the mixed bag. Temps have been between 3 - 4c for the high and -4 for the low this last week or so. Yesterday was snow, followed by freezing rain to make it all glossy, then rain today to turn it to mush. Worked from home today :D

    Luther and the Jews

Sorry, it was a small snippet from here: Also, when he speaks of "acknowledging their maternal blood", is he speaking of...?

    Luther and the Jews

From the OP, it's interesting that Luther's view was: "Consequently, there is no distinction between Jews and Gentiles..." Which I don't disagree with - but he goes on: "...except that Moses later separated this people from the Gentiles by a different form of worship and political regime"...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Signing off for a bit - have some work to do from home. We had some significant snow, plus a bit of freezing rain, over-night. So I'm probably not going out until later. Good thing I can tether my work phone to my computer and access the servers for my job

    Luther and the Jews

That's understood. During his time, it appears he had some strong opinions on what should happen with those who rejected Him. The Anabaptists also suffered at the hands of Luther's faithful, so it wasn't just the Jews. In the context of his culture, 'rebuke' is a rather soft word. The label...

    Luther and the Jews

I realize that it was a long post, but Luther apparently had something in mind for the Jews of his time in this life as well as damnation to hell. It was an interesting read, along with the OP. I understand that such sentiment must be taken with a cultural grain of salt - such was the sentiment...

    Luther and the Jews

Damned himself to what? According to Luther, see post #3. Is it acceptable that they are "Messianic Jews"? I also had a friend who was, but he never disavowed being a Jew (cultural and spiritual).

    Quirky things you do.

I talk back to the T.V... Often. Example - Watching Law & Order, one of the characters admitted he had help burying a girl he had killed. Me (out loud to no-one): "It was his dad" I was right, but...
