    Growing up

    I grew up in the suburbs where there were a LOT of kids on our block!! My friends and I would walk to the library by ourselves to check out bags of books because the town was safe to live in at the time. We had a pond where there were tadpoles and snakes and the kids would all be playing...

    Thank you, all. I'm still taking it hard. I had to dig the grave and bury her today. Her daughter is looking for her and that's sad too. I have Christmas music on so that there is noise in the house, especially when I go outside.

    I had a rough day yesterday. One of my daughter's guinea pigs (named Donut) died yesterday. She was 6 years old and the mama of the other pig (Sugar). She died in my arms :puppydogeyes:

    For my very closest friends I've known since childhood I tell them I love them often! We never said it while growing up but now when we write to each other in messages or emails we say it. You never know how much longer you'll be on this earth so it's good to tell others how you feel.

    Aw, tango, those kind of bazaars are bizarre ;) I stopped going to a lot of these craft shows because they're the same people over and over selling the same wares.

    I'd invest in a washer/dryer combo and do small loads daily to avoid having to go to a laundromat. Even washing by hand has to be more fun.

    You have a lot of good ideas. Thank you :) As for the dryer duct, yes, it runs outside. I spent last winter sealing it with some expensive hvac tape so it's really efficient now!

    I wish I could find a way to insulate the laundry room. This past week I closed the door to that room and the entire basement has been warmer!! It's an unfinished room whereas the rest of the basement besides the furnace room is finished with drywall and ceiling tiles.

    We have propane and it's about the same price as gasoline. How is the oil pricing? I read that it is used differently so that it doesn't use as much as propane.
