All the examples of 'speaking in tongues' that I have heard are, in my opinion, examples of speaking gibberish without any sign that the Holy Spirit is at work.
Why not both? If the Lord can be both man and God in one person why not the Church too, man (woman) as the bride and gods (sharing in the divine nature) as the body.
