    When The penny drops.

I'm not Lutheran and I don't believe water baptism is salvific. It's just H2O. I've read a lot about this subject. I don't believe in confession to priests. The Bible doesn't teach that. It does say that you can confess to others at church. I get fed by the Word at home as well as I would at...

    When The penny drops.

I did think baptism was important because shortly after I was saved I had a strange dream where I was going to a church to get baptised and I woke up hearing some interesting words that were Biblical in nature, including a particular word I did not know at that time. When I looked it up later I...

    Tough Love or Help?

Maybe some people DO learn and they decide to do the wrong thing regardless. There are evil people out there that do know they have done something against their conscience and they choose to continue to do it later on which sears their conscience. Does that mean when they are hard to...

    When The penny drops.

Oh by the way, I'm not a Christian Science guy. Remember, that's like grape nuts. They aren't grapes and they aren't nuts. (I hope you catch the reference there). I do believe miracles still happen like healings. There's too much evidence for that to deny it. Besides, being born again is a...

Proof of God For Science Types

Hello. Do you have any reasons for thinking there are some people here that are atheists pretending to be Christians? I haven't been here long but I have seen that kind of behaviour on the internet before where atheists do indeed masquerade as Christians. For example, no Christian will bring...

    When The penny drops.

I've checked out most of the Churches near to me and none of them fit. I live in London too, so "go figure". They are all compromised in one way or another. And I'm not lying or joking. Fortunately my salvation doesn't depend upon attending a church or getting baptised but I would like to go...

    When The penny drops.

Yes. But I think the case for grace rather than free will is supported by a greater number of scriptures. That's why I said I was basically Reformed but more "loosely". I'm willing to admit that God works salvation in people in different ways because I don't want to put God in a box, as you said.

    When The penny drops.

In terms of theology, this is free will versus determinism, or more classically put, predestination. It is clear to everybody with a functioning sane mind that the Bible obviously uses the word predestination which has nothing to do with Gnosticism. And that there are millions of Christians...

    When The penny drops.

I don't see people straddling both sides of the fence at the same time because they prefer comfort over discomfort, which is what cognitive dissonance does to people. Everybody is subject to it, and especially in Bible reading comprehension. If you have a theological "script" I would suggest...

    When The penny drops.

I went on to study theology books and came around to a view that is loosely Reformed. I say loosely because I can see free will passages in the scriptures as well as grace passages. It also fit my experience when I was regenerated. I don't attend any church and I never have since that time.

Do you believe that God is the just Judge or all humans?

Maybe it depends upon who you listen to/read/watch. I came out of a background involved in yoga meditation for a number of years so when I see Christians on TV or online that have a more charismatic emphasis I detect things that remind me of my previous life and I steer clear of that kind of...

What happens if someone strays from the creed in some way? Who would be any types of persons that would be disqualified from posting on this website?

And I want to know why this is important. Could you elaborate more? What is it about the Nicene creed that distinguishes this site?

    Saying hello

Thanks for clarifying. Could you perhaps tell me why the Nicene Creed is so important around here?

    Saying hello

Thanks for letting me know. So It seems this is kind of quite a small forum than I am used to, I think (?). Which part of the world are you in? Is there a particular doctrinal belief or denomination the site holds to? Just trying to learn some more and my way around here.

    Saying hello

May I ask, who is the owner of this website? Is it you? I seem to be a bit overwhelmed with the amount of information here and should have been able to check more about the origins of this site but haven't got round to it yet. Is there information regarding the origin and those in places of...

    When The penny drops.

I think there are children of pastors that can sometimes go in the opposite direction because when they grow up they rebel against Christian standards and want to enjoy the things of this world. You see this pretty much everywhere in denominations. It isn't just a Calvinistic system that...

    Saying hello

Greetings and hello, I found this webforum just recently and was surprised I didn't see it on Google before. I don't know how it is possible I could have missed seeing this listed on a Google search. Could there be a reason? Well, I look forward to interacting here with other Christians or...
