Today, after receiving a powered USB hub from Amazon.com.au I am resurrecting a slightly crippled Windows 10 on my Teclast X98 Air 3G tablet. I damaged its drivers by installing "optional updates" for drivers. The optional updates didn't work, and Microsoft did warn that they might not, so it...

    Air Fryer

Here in Oz we have K-Mart, it is cheap as chips and makes good stuff - via its Chinese partners, no doubt. I bought an air fryer from them. Its brand is Anko. It cost very little ($39 AUD). It works very well, is quite easy to clean, and it makes tasty food!

    Chromebook

I ordered a Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook from Amazon. It isn't very expensive. It has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It has google support until June 2030. If it is still working and is still interesting to me after 2030 then it can take Linux for ARM. Do any people here have a Chromebook and use it?

    My i7 4700HQ laptop

I am using my fancy 4th generation i7 laptop from ASUS (which we, civilised people, pronounce as a-sus) under Windows 10 1809 17763.437 and all is well. The screen is bright, the track-pad works properly and reliably, the keyboard is good, and the touchscreen works like a charm. So I am inclined...

A critique of smart phone interfaces and technology.

Why do you need to "swipe right" to answer a phone call? Why not just have a green answer button and a red decline button? why do you need to swipe down to turn off? Why not just turn off after the power button is pressed for a while? Why not offer "sight impaired" and "dexterity impaired"...
