Prayer Request 10_6_2025

I had a blood clot in my lung back in August of 2020. Every year since I've went in for a CT scan. Well, this time they found a spot on my lung and an inflamed lymph node.

I am having a couple of test done this week, including a PET scan on Thursday. I meet with a Thoracic surgeon next Monday to schedule a biopsy. I'm supposed to go on an anniversary trip with my wife on Oct 18th that I may have to cancel.

Please pray that whatever this is that it isn't serious. Please pray for my nerves and thoughts. It is very easy to dwell on the worst case scenario. Please pray that whatever happens that my faith in Christ will grow and that I will rest in Him.

And if any of you are wondering. I had the blot clot before the Covid Shot came out and I tested negative on four Covid Test at the time.

Here is a quick update.

They can't get to the "nodule" in my lung to do a biopsy without removing the lower "lobe" of my lung. Which obviously, nobody wants to do unless absolutely necessary. They were able to do a biopsy on the lymph node and it came back negative. PTL.

I have another appointment with a pulmonologist and a thoracic surgeon next Monday. I had blood work done this morning. Something is causing the "nodule" and my lymph node to be inflamed. They are trying to figure out what it is (it could still be cancer).

I hope it turns out good for you. I'm sorry I don't know you, but I had cancer a few years ago and it can be depressing to deal with. We should all learn to thank God when times are down as well as the good times. Try not to worry if you are prone to that. Anxiety makes everything doubly worse. Praying that you will get a good outcome.

The biopsy on the lymph node coming back negative is a good sign. If it had come back positive then it would be an automatic removal of the lower third of my lung and chemo.

Ironically, it coming back negative makes everything more complicated. They are doing blood work to look for markers for other things it could be. A fungus or other type of infection is still possible but there is no magic blood test that can diagnose a fungus. And the treatment for a fungus is way more complicated that taking a z-pack.

In the end they may want to remove the lower lob of my lung to do a biopsy, just out of precaution. I'm not a smoker and fairly active for my age so otherwise my lungs are in good shape. And while lung cancer in non-smokers is rare, it does happen. Of course, I don't think major surgery with organ removal should be used as a diagnostic tool. All three of the doctors that are evaluating me said they have had cases like mine where they remove part of the lung and the biopsy comes back negative. Of course, a negative biopsy is always a good thing. But it would also be frustrating to go through major life effecting surgery that, when all is said and done, wasn't needed.

I may have to a decision to either go ahead and have part of my lung removed and get a biopsy or wait and see if it grows and spreads. That is kinda like being asked if you want to be shot or stabbed.

My prayer, at this point, is that they will find something in the blood work that is very treatable.
