@Edward429451, from my experience, it takes a whole lifetime for that transformation to take place in our lives, because if we became perfect, we would always be struggling against pride in our perfection.I *think* that the closer we get to God, the more He teaches us truth and with truth within us the clarity comes naturally. We, study His Word to show ourselves approved, Meditate on His word (think about it and dwell on it), and pray unceasingly. Then it will happen. You do all that for 6 months, you'd be new man. Transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God..../KJV
It's in Psalms also.
Psalm 119:105
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path..../KJV
That means, you will have Clarity, you will get Enlightenment and think better, less chaotic, and have control over your thoughts. You will make the right decisions.

I've read the Bible all the way through many times during my almost-83 years, and God keeps using it in my life. I'm thankful!!Luckily, it's not performance based. The Lord looks at our heart. He looks at our efforts, our intentions.
Now if a guy dont read his Bible saying to himself, well Jesus will perfect me later....that man has gone luke warm and risks being spewed out of Jesus mouth.
