Going to have my first go at building a sun oven today. If the simple prototype works, then I'll draw up plans for a proper one.

Take pics, Strav!

I'm going to work and hope that I get enough to do to last through the day.

Took in a hike up to one of the local vistas. Testing out my new fitbit, took in 15000 steps and 100 floors. Waiting until I can get some monster walks in.

I need to get back in shape. I'm hoping to get at least one hike in that's 40000 steps or more and 400 floors or more. I'd really like to see 50000 steps and 500 floors.

You guys should have a thread to encourage each other to reach your goals!!

I know that once I stop working again that I'll lose this weight I put on by sitting around ALL DAY LONG. I like staying active and it's killing me to be so sedentary.

Yesterday we did our walk "around the block" and it took 54 minutes. 4 minutes longer than it used to and my husband had to comment on how we're getting old and losing it LOL Okay, yeah, so I stopped to pet the mini horse that came running over to us! It was so adorable.

On my monster hikes I sometimes just keep walking until either I run out of daylight or my legs stop working. When I get home my wife says I look utterly destroyed physically but also totally at peace. When I cycled more I often wished I could just head out and not have to turn back, just to see how far I'd get. A couple of times I did point to point tours with friends that let me do just that.

Oh I hate cycling with other people! LOL I like going my own pace when I want without either being slowed down or rushed. Plus, I am more cautious than most people about crossing roads and won't take the risk of going out in front of a car.

I like that too, but when you're fighting an 18% gradient 100 miles into a ride a bit of moral support goes a long way.

Or an annoyance ;) LOL If I'm worn and tired, other people can get on my nerves very quickly in conditions like that (for me) :grumble:

I hear you... The first time it happened to me it was a 2 mile hill after 80 miles and I nearly had a major sense of humour failure. The second time I'd learned a lot and figured moral support wasnt intended to rub it in.

The first time I attacked that hill I got up it but that was only 3 miles into a ride. After 100 miles it was a different story and I had to walk the last half mile of it.
