Waiting for it to warm up so I can put some crack filler on the blacktop in our driveway. We have one that goes all the way across and it's not too wide yet so I want to fill it now. We have to park our vehicles further up the driveway and leave them out all night afterward since we can't drive over that spot right away.

The driveway took 2 hours to take care of but it's done now for a few more years for that crack. Now I'm relaxing and taking care of other things in the house.

Went for a walk in the woods today. It's been a while and some days I like some solitude that walking the roads around town just doesn't provide. The roads around here are usually all but deserted but there's something about the woods that's different.

Curiously a 4.7 mile walk that went up and down the side of one of the local mountains didn't register as any more of a training load, according to my tracker, than the 5.1 mile walk around town on paved roads. I'm not sure if that means I'm getting fitter than I thought or if the walk is substantially easier than the one going up the adjacent mountain.

Maybe during the week I'll do the walk up the adjacent mountain and find out.

Working on an embroidery project that incorporates my mom's old buttons. I'm so excited for it.

I shaved 9 seconds off my personal best for a 5k this afternoon. I pushed my pulse higher than I really wanted to take it but for the last 200 yards or so I just wanted to cover the ground. Then I got home and spent the next half an hour dripping sweat.

Speaking the truth as I know it on a different forum I have been banned from (no, not CF), under a sock account, and already getting censored. The fact that they need to label what I present as "misinformation" just proves to me they are afraid of truth. Had I said that blue unicorns make the sky blue no action would have been taken, but these cowards (or tyrants) are sensitive to truth, and have an aversion to it, hence the censoring.

Hello afternoon all! How's it going so far with your day? This morning, I've just had a shower and hair wash and it's a lot cooler this week. The afternoon, just enjoying my usual TV show before dozing off tonight.

Misinformation depends on which side you're on ;)

Got another run in this morning while my wife was out grocery shopping. I started out feeling very strong but by the end felt like the heat was getting to be too much.

It does sound rather like a news update from George Orwell's "1984", along with concepts like "he who controls the past controls the future, he who controls the present controls the past".

It's interesting to see how misinformation, such as the theory that the Wu-flu escaped from a Chinese lab, mysteriously becomes mainstream and no longer censored.

Yeah, all the things Trump said that the media and politicians told us were lies are coming true. Sad that the world is like this now.

I read an article recently that, if true, blows a lot of stuff out of the water. I wish I could find it again so I could look to verify it, but the gist of what it was saying was that the coronavirus indicated signs that it was some kind of chimera, with the spike protein from one virus attached to the body of another.

Only this morning I read an article published on the BMJ's web site that indicated natural immunity to COVID was not only shown to be as good as immunity induced by vaccination but that people with natural immunity due to exposure to the virus are more likely to face side effects from the vaccines. But hey, it's important to get everybody vaccinated because it helps tick off a badly designed metric.

I hate the push for vaccines because these are more like therapeutics than a true vaccine. One news reporter was on last week and said that the vaccines prevent Covid. NO this vaccine does NOT prevent covid. It helps people to have less severe symptoms is all. That was her misinformatino she's pushing.

... especially now the growing push to get people putting socks on their heads again indicates that the benefit to society is minimal at best. Curiously in the early days we were told that a bit of cloth in front of our faces would work, but now it appears more and more that this isn't the case as places like airlines are increasingly demanding surgical masks. N95 masks, in time (which depends on the person and conditions) grow damp until they become almost airtight. I know this, as it has happened to me several times, but apparently some talking head or other said it doesn't happen so I'm supposed to believe them instead of what I see with my own eyes.

What we essentially have now is a vaccine that's so safe and beneficial to me that I have to be threatened with societal exclusion to get me to take it, to protect against a virus so deadly most people don't even know they have it.

And then people wonder why there's so much disinclination to blindly follow the talking heads.

Our favorite brewpub did one of their semiannual members' nights this evening. We've been members for a few years now and some good friends of ours joined just before they closed the door to new memberships. We met them there and had a good evening. The members' nights are really good with food laid on and discounts on beer. Between my wife and I we had four beers, ate enough food that we were both stuffed, and our bill came to a whisker over $15 including a generous tip.
