Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Revelation of John 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Revelation of John 22:1-5 1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

Between references to the tree of life can be found the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an interesting aspect of the holy scriptures that the story starts with the tree of life and it ends with it too.

Is it intentional?

In heaven "they nether marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels" meaning that they have no children. But Adam and Eve were made to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth" so Adam and Eve were not like the angels. So God's people at the time of creation and his people at the last judgement differ significantly in one respect; the former had children and were made to have them while the latter are not meant to have children in heaven. Yet the tree of life is present for both. Now that makes me wonder if Adam and Eve had had children and not fallen into sin and eventually eaten from the tree of life would they have ceased having children and also would their children also have to go through a period of child bearing and only after that eat from the tree of life?
