People who have reached a 9 or 10 on the pain scale, what happened?

I was giving birth. Nothing will ever compare to that pain.

I had a pinched nerve in my neck related to a bulging disc in my neck. The pain meds the doctor gave me did not help at all.

Severely stubbed (probably broke) a toe. Was in pain for, I think, two months.

Had an abcessed strep throat with the worst pain in my neck, either from the illness itself or from laying down so long. Ended up in the hospital for two days on IV antibiotics, then at home for awhile on IV antibiotics.

No epidural?

No, my obstetrician didn't believe in using them!! It was awful and I was begging for a cesarean section.

Wow. I had an epidural but it wore off and didn’t know I could ask for more. In the delivery room I finally said that I had feeling and the doctor said that I couldn’t bc I had an epidural. Then he touched me again and I said “I felt that, too” and he was like “she has feeling, give her some more“. That was just before the episiotomy. Yikes! After that I felt nothing at all. Couldn’t even move my legs.

Do you react strongly to normal pain? Why did it wear off? I'd be so mad LOL

I don’t know….i think they’re supposed to give the patient more. But I really don’t know. I was only 24 and naive at the time.
