I just am asking because I don't really like the Democrat or Republican parties. I think a new party should be for everyone to benefit from.

No but a new party is not going to help unless they can gain complete control, Obamas second term pointed that out very clearly

Well, repulicans or democrats never have complete control so...

Actually, that is not quite correct. The Democrats, with Obama in the White House, also had firm control of both the House and the Senate for the first 2 years of Obama's presidency. As a result, they forced a lot of stuff through -- as Repubs were helpless to stop it -- to create the overall mess we are in today.

Yeah, I found G-Dub's record of war-mongering and stifling of stem-cell research to be quite a "mess" too. But then Obama's administration hasn't really done much better in the war-mongering department. We need to get our noses out of the Middle East where they do not belong.

I have been voting since the 1984 election, and not once have I voted for a candidate, but rather against one. I don't vote consistently with one party or the other either...just for what I see as the least offensive politician...not that a politician is ever really unoffensive by their very nature. It's sort of like choosing which cat turd I want to take from the litter box and put in my dinner...one must be careful to choose that turd which will gag you the least. :)

The war mongering is what we would refer to as "Sept. 11." We were attacked on that day -- in case everyone has forgotten what triggered the war.

All Obama did was place a campaign promise above doing the right thing when he abandoned Iraq after we spilled our blood, eliminated a dictator and gave them a democracy. Obama's actions directly paved the way for the terrorists to flood back into the country. And now we have ISIS over there. Remember when Obama, before this happened, proclaimed that ISIS was just a "JV squad?" Look how wrong he was on that one, too.

As for stem-cell research, it continues uninterrupted. However, it might come as a surprise to some of us that fetal stem cell research has produced NO breakthroughs or promising findings -- it is merely a way to battle those wishing to end the heinous act of abortion. As for stem-cell research, the breakthroughs have been through the use of donated ADULT stem cells. There is no need, at all, for fetal stem cells.

None at all.

Yes, we were attacked...but not by a nation. This gave us no right to plant troops on foreign soil. It has only served to fuel hatred for us and our allies. But we will continue to hemorrhage money and young lives in a war we cannot possibly win.

Obama simply did what all politicians do...he made the right noises to get elected. These groups will be like sharks teeth...we can break one off, and there are 4 more ready to spring up in its place. We are at war with radical Islam...with people who value our deaths more than they value their own lives.

As for stem-cell research, it continues uninterrupted. However, it might come as a surprise to some of us that fetal stem cell research has produced NO breakthroughs or promising findings -- it is merely a way to battle those wishing to end the heinous act of abortion.

After a handful of years after the research was allowed to continue (after G.Dub's interruption) and no breakthroughs? Well...let's just abandon it then, right?

None at all.

National Institutes of Health said:
Human embryonic and adult stem cells each have advantages and disadvantages regarding potential use for cell-based regenerative therapies. One major difference between adult and embryonic stem cells is their different abilities in the number and type of differentiated cell types they can become. Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body because they are pluripotent. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin.

Embryonic stem cells can be grown relatively easily in culture. Adult stem cells are rare in mature tissues, so isolating these cells from an adult tissue is challenging, and methods to expand their numbers in cell culture have not yet been worked out. This is an important distinction, as large numbers of cells are needed for stem cell replacement therapies.

Scientists believe that tissues derived from embryonic and adult stem cells may differ in the likelihood of being rejected after transplantation. We don't yet know for certain whether tissues derived from embryonic stem cells would cause transplant rejection, since relatively few clinical trials have tested the safety of transplanted cells derived from hESCS.

Adult stem cells, and tissues derived from them, are currently believed less likely to initiate rejection after transplantation. This is because a patient's own cells could be expanded in culture, coaxed into assuming a specific cell type (differentiation), and then reintroduced into the patient. The use of adult stem cells and tissues derived from the patient's own adult stem cells would mean that the cells are less likely to be rejected by the immune system. This represents a significant advantage, as immune rejection can be circumvented only by continuous administration of immunosuppressive drugs, and the drugs themselves may cause deleterious side effects.

Ruth, everything I said is factual.

However, this IS America -- and you have a perfect right to be incorrect.

This nation needs God again instead of turning our backs on Him we should be running toward Him as a nation. We need to get rid of abortion and repent, we need to not take God out of everything, otherwise our future is not good

Wrong, Ruth. I will advise you when I offer an opinion. What I said was factual.

But you, Mark, and other leftists -- by using liberal 2+2=3 logic -- will never recognize, understand or accept the truth about these various issues.

I can lead a horse to the water, but I cannot make him -- or her -- drink it. And therein lies your problem.

Being attacked by foreign elements ALWAYS gives us the right to tread on foreign soil to defend ourselves. Do you really believe that defending ourselves fuels hatred for us? By this logic, they loved us before the Sept. 11 attack. And yet they still attacked us? You are forming your own circular firing squad with such confusing "logic," Mark.

Obama simply did what all politicians do...he made the right noises to get elected. Politicians -- especially Democrats -- lie to get elected and then govern just the opposite. In Obama's case, he made the promises -- and kept most of them, which has placed our nation in grave danger. We are indeed at war with radical islam. We agree on that. But Obama is BEHAVING like a radical Muslim by helping them. For example, the terrorists he has freed from Gitmo, the aid and comfort he is giving to Iran -- which will make them a nuclear power.

If the terrorists could get a man inside our top levels of government -- say the oval office -- he would do exactly what Obama is doing to the USA.

Sure there have been breakthroughs -- with ADULT stem cells. They can do the same things as those of an infant. Embryonic stem cell research is essentially an excuse to keep killing unborn babies and, of course, selling their body parts as "Banned" Parenthood is doing.

So, if a group of U.S. terrorists sets off a bomb claiming lives in China, then you will be fine with Chinese troops and the Chinese war machine operating on American soil?

You know as well as I do that there was no love for the West in the Middle East before 9/11...and with good reason...we have been meddling in their affairs ever since "well-meaning" Christians marched into their lands with Bibles and swords.

The more we meddle there, the more they hate us, and I can't really say I blame them one bit.

Politicians are all equally despicable. No one party has the market on deception cornered. Our government is in the business of meddling in the affairs of other nations. It's what we do and why I feel compelled to apologize to my friends from other nations for the actions of my government. It is a legacy for which I feel deep shame.

Yeah, because godless scientists are just itching to kill babies, right? There is a fundamental difference between embryonic and adult stem cells...did you read what I posted above?

Only a real leftist would, even in passing, conjure up the notion of the U.S. being a terrorist nation. Being anti-Christian is another of your problems. If I knew "as well as you do," I would know nothing at all. Especially regarding the Crusades, which were triggered BY the Muslims when they confiscated Christian properties. Too bad you do not defend your own country as well as you defend other ones.

Liberalism is based on lies, dishonesty and murder. Conservatism is based on the moral, ethical Judeo-Christian values that this nation was founded on. Basically you have the Dumocrat party, which is completely waterlogged with liberalism. And you have the Republican party, which is "basically" constituted by conservatives. Sadly, however, you do have a point in that weak conservatives, such as John Boner and Mitch McConnell, who lack the courage to fight the liberal Dumocrats. In this regard, they are no better than they are.

If you feel compelled to apologize to your "friends from other nations" for the United States -- which has literally liberated countless nations and millions of innocent people -- you really would probably be more comfortable leaving the USA for one of those other nations you seem to favor.

I'm not interested in the technobabble you posted above. Just like the "facts" surrounding the manmade global warming hoax, anything you pull from liberal sources is just as phony & dishonest. The fact remains that there is no real need to harvest baby stem cells except to protect the murderous act of abortion. And I'm reasonably sure that you will not be able to comprehend what I am really saying.

You really need to educate yourself with TRUE facts and not just emotional based feelings that have an anti-American agenda.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. If a U.S. based group attacked another nation, then they would be doing no different than we did when we were attacked if they then saw us as a terrorist nation.

Being anti-Christian is another of your problems.

I'm not anti-Christian...I am anti- "atrocities done in the name of religion" regardless of the religion.

If I knew "as well as you do," I would know nothing at all. Especially regarding the Crusades, which were triggered BY the Muslims when they confiscated Christian properties. Too bad you do not defend your own country as well as you defend other ones.

Yes, because of course the Europeans had a "God-given" right to Arab lands, right? The West has unjustly felt it has a right to certain "Holy" lands and those who actually live there resent this. You are too blind to have any empathy. And I proudly served in the U.S. military, and as a true patriot, I see the problems with this nation that need to be addressed and want changes in our policies to be made. A patriot is not someone who ignorantly feels his country is right, no matter what they do.

Ummm...okay. Let me guess, you listen to Rush Limbaugh?

No, I will stay right here, thank you very much. I favor making this nation better, and turning away from our war-mongering recent history. But I get where you are coming from..."America, love it or leave it." I wonder what the founding fathers thought when Loyalists said the same to them.

I'm not interested in the technobabble you posted above.

I can't say this statement surprises me in the least.

I read you loud and clear...and I know your agenda inside and out.

You really need to educate yourself with TRUE facts and not just emotional based feelings that have an anti-American agenda.

True facts? You seem to have no concept of what this is. You call anything that disagrees with you worldview "techobabble" and liberal misinformation. You seem to confuse any wishes for a positive change in American policy as "Anti-American." If I had a friend who was participating in destructive behavior, would I be against him for wanting him to make a positive change? A true friend tells you things you might not want to hear, while a poor excuse for a friend just smiles and nods and gives you a pat on the back no matter what you do. America has enough yes men, but they are not the true patriots. I want being an American something to live up to, not something to live down.
