I'll change my vote once I know that it was actual archival document and government property.. I know it was signed by Trump that's all.

So I say no as of now instead of unsure because it's based on the information I have.

Also it seems like government officials are never punished, I believe many political officials should be punished in some way but I am certain that shredding the letter of the state of the union in public will only be laughable, her misery and hate seems to be punishing her enough :)
Hilary btw white washed a hoard of incriminating e mails and I don't think anything will ever be done about that.

I think people might be surprised that I don't think she should be punished. I think that she shouldn't be allowed within the same tv screen frame as Trump ever again. She threw a temper tantrum and made a bad choice. Maybe there will be consequences that naturally follow without a forced punishment?

If she broke the law she should be punished. If she didn't then what she did was in poor taste but nothing more. Poor taste doesn't have to be formally punished.

Let's face it, those on the political right will largely despise her whatever she does and those on the political left will largely praise her whatever she does, so it's not as if it's going to make a lot of difference to her political fortunes.

Absolutely, but it won't happen. The Democrats control the House. And the Press will defend her. Worse, she has set a new LOW that likely will be copied since she'll get away with it and get a lot of positive press for doing it. The swamp just got bigger and deeper.

Funny, this is how I see Trump and he is a proven liar, one of the biggest all time as proven by how many verifible ones he has told since being in office. Then of course there is his business dealings, his personal vendettas and his disrespect of vets gold star mothers, all sorts of things and I truly believe that unless he gets a pardon he will be indicted once he leaves office

So, two wrongs make a right? So, because YOU have the opinion that Trump is horribly, visibly, publicly RUDE to the Speaker of the House (you gave no examples, but let's move on) ERGO it is okay for Pelosi to perform this unprecidented, public stunt on live TV to be seen by millions.... I respectfully disagree.

A difference between being rude and beuing punished. She certainly was not proper but she does not deserve punishment, at least she didnt break any laws

I think they are looking into the breaking of laws. Could be punishable for up to 3 years in jail. A violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, Section 2071 (a) Even if it was her copy, some are saying it was a legally signed Constitutionally required document.

Put her in a boxing match with Trump or Pence.

I would pay real money to see that.

I don't think she should be punished. She has a right just as anyone else does to express her opinion

It is not illegal to rip up a COPY of a speech. This was not the copy sent to the LOC for archival purposes. Moreover if you want to punish her for this, what will you do with the Orange Idiot who regularly shreds government documents? In fact he's shredded so many people have had to be hired to stick them back together.

18 U.S.C. § 2071, Section 2071 (a) .. "ANY record, proceeding, map, book, PAPER, DOCUMENT, or OTHER THING... " ..."filed or DEPOSITED... in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States"

I guess it's all in the way it's interpreted, guess that's why there are so many denominations.
