    Prayers for the President is one thing but I don't want political opinion from the pulpit when I'm there to hear about the Savior and His forgiveness of sins. Isn't that the ultimate goal...to receive what God wants to give us in His service?

    I was told that it takes 21 days to create a new habit and some people don't want to give it that long so they resort to the old habit. It takes determination to stick with it. It helps to have people supporting you for encouragement.

    I agree with this. Thinking of baptism (not trying to change the course of this thread but using example), the Church is more about the family than about the individual and that's just like the Hebrews and the Jews who were concerned with their family and not just self. If something happened...

    I thought childbirth was something more than I wanted to handle ;) That's why I have one child! LOL But seriously I disagree with people using that phrase because it's just not found in the bible. People do die from things they cannot handle...was it given to them by God? I don't know but...

    I voted yes because when I was a teen the synod my church belonged to became part of another synod so it was kind of split. My mom didn't remain there long after and when every sermon was begging for money I stopped attending as well.

    I wasn't giving you an off-hand dismissal. I was showing how baptism is also God's work through that verse just like faith is God's work and being raised from the dead is God's work.

    Yes, I'm so over this snow stuff! I've seen flowers trying to poke through the ground so that's a good thing! My daughter and niece are coming to visit in 2 weeks and I'm going to have them till my soil in my garden! I have free workers :D

    Do people still pay for wi-fi? All the hotels I've been staying in have free wi-fi. Sometimes the speed is very slow though! Restaurants have better speed! I agree that I wish checkout times were later and we had to check out at noon last Monday but wanted to spend more time with our daughter...

    God is the one who is growing His church. He sometimes lets attendance dwindle (think of the Old Testament where Israel kept turning away and God would then turn them back to Him).
