Well, one thing it's tied up too much with race. I mean, there's so much racial resentment, that a black person, seen as having special privileges (affirmative action) might not relate to a poor white person - or a white person wouldn't relate to a black person, cause they just see that person as being some "in-the-closet" or "in-the-open" racist. In fact, plenty of blacks, maybe most, simply associate Trump and any Religious Right supporters as just being Klan-like.

Well, the blacks shouldn't actually. I mean, Planned Parenthood has aborted millions of blacks. Nonetheless, the pride exhibited due to politics - simply casts a sour look upon blacks, even black Christians. It's just a fact. But is it justified? I think it is - cause it's too much pride - and yes, blacks and others also exhibit their own pride.

I think a person should get involved if they feel like the Lord is calling them to do that. People make an impact for God's kingdom in all sorts of positions

Recently, there were attempts by many religions and religious factions to enter politics to get power in the guise of helping the people of their community.

Even historically, we know that wars were fought by the church. A deep analysis into World War 1 will see that almost all countries except US (really?) had an objective religious motive to enter into war.

How can the church, if at all, justify all these? Can we really walk by our bloody past and make no note of it?

If the purpose of joining politics is good and for social benefits then it is not bad thing.
