That was kind of startling to read this morning. Apparently, the shrine officials fear contagion spreading in these pools where miraculous healings are supposed to take place.

So...our shrine's healing pool can heal you but not if you get the Coronavirus?

Hmm, looks like they might have some explaining to do to those making a pilgrimage to be healed..

It reminds me of the meme "when you notice the guy who promises healing for everyone without conditions is wearing glasses".

Apparently, the healing qualities of this water ( may only be in the heads of the pilgrims) aren't quite as potent as their publicity team would have the public believe.

Yeah, that is a lot of money spent and hope invested. I wonder if they get a refund?

Ah, yes, the placebo effect. Were they charged money to be there?

Yep, didn't Jesus say something like "freely you have received, charge to pass it on"?

Wait, maybe that's not what he said....

Everyone's gotta make a buck.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, but if I wanted to make a pilgrimage, I'd rather visit the Castle Church in Wittenberg and the Black Cloister.
