I don't see anything particularly Christian about the practice. It's not to say it's a bad thing to be an organ donor but I just don't see anything about it that makes it Christian when there are those outside of the faith more than happy to do it so what makes you a Christian so special for doing what those who aren't Christian are willing to do?

I didn't imply for the OP to suggest that it's only a Christian practice, but rather is it something that Christians SHOULD be doing? As ImaginaryDay2 asked, if so, Why?

I'm not sure I specifically see a theological reason to donate organs, or to not donate organs. To be honest the statement "It's the Christian thing to do" without providing any reasoning at all is unhelpful, as it suggests someone who may have their own moral reasons for not donating their organs isn't a proper Christian. I think a stance that implie that some Christians aren't proper Christians requires reasoning.
