Sirach 7:31 doesn't mention sanctification - or am I missing something? Just curious...

You appear to be missing something, did you use the KJV?

Sirach 7:31 Fear the Lord, and honour the priest; and give him his portion, as it is commanded thee; the firstfruits, and the trespass offering, and the gift of the shoulders, and the sacrifice of sanctification, and the firstfruits of the holy things.

A person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

What confuses me is when someone says Baptism is a public profession of someone accepting Christ and nothing more, that it does not wash away sin.

A person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
1. Faith + Works = Justification
2. Faith - Works = non Justification/dead faith
3. Faith alone (see 2)
4. Works alone - no Salvation/ no Justification/ no Hope

Ya both should read the Bible and drop your denominational dogma, then you won't be confused. The EO has you all messed up.

I'll simplify...
Justification = God alone
