I'm resurrecting this thread out of the archives.

Something you might not know about this board is that we have Prefixes you can use in the Denomination & Faith Movement Discussions forum. Just a note that Evangelical includes more group than some members might realize.

Something you might not know is that this board invites all people here and we are respectful toward them because that is what God wants from us. We include all Christian denominational faiths in the Christian Only forums. If you do not like a thread, you don't have to post in it. If you want to see more topics of what you'd like to discuss, then begin more threads on those topics.

Something you might not know is we rely on our members to make this board great. If you want it to fail then it probably will. If you want it to keep going, then you can be a huge part in that as well!

Since Mark has returned he has really been cranking out some exciting changes for us!

To make things easier for our moderators and users alike, we have added a feature whereby users who identify with non-Christian beliefs via the "Religious Affiliation" profile field will be given a reminder when viewing such areas that posting there is restricted to Christians only, so that true Christian fellowship can be achieved. The vast majority of CH
is still open to everyone, and we welcome all to post. This new add on will prevent accidental postings in Christian Only areas and less reports for staff to work (not that we have many at the moment).

Another new feature we will soon have is an add on in your profiles that shows your referrals to the site!

Thanks, Mark!

Mark is working on polishing up our Post Bits (where our information is showing along with avatar that you see in the threads). They're looking pretty spiffy!

Hello All!

We've just added a feature whereby you can report any part of a user's profile that may be objectionable right from posts, in addition to also being able to do it from a user's profile page. At the lower right corner of the postbit, you will see a gray exclamation point icon:

ch_postibtprofilereport.png

If you click that icon, the profile reporter page will load, and you can select from one of the pre-defined reasons or state your own reason for reporting. Once you report a user's profile, the button will turn to red to indicate you have already reported that user's profile. However, you can report it again if the profile gets changed and is still objectionable, this is just as a reminder that you have already reported that profile.

If you have any questions/comments, please feel free to post. :D

You will now find that when you edit a post more than 5 minutes after it was created, you will be required to give a reason for editing the post. The 5 minute "grace period" gives you time to correct typos/grammar, or add something you initially forgot, but after that it will be useful for others to see why you edited your post. You will find to the right of the edit reason field, a drop-down menu of common edit reasons. :D

We have added a feature whereby the custom BB Code buttons on our editor toolbar have additional information provided in their mouseover tooltips to help explain what they are for and how to use them.

The toolbar is the area just above the area where you enter your post content, where all those little buttons are. In the quick editor (the editor that appears on the thread page, where you can click "Go Advanced" to go to the advanced editor), the custom BB Codes are all in the bottom row. Now, if you hover your mouse over one of those buttons, you will see additional information about the button. :D

This works in the advanced editor too, but there the custom BB Code buttons share the bottom row with other buttons.

There is a feature, which isn't new, but people may not know about because I am the only one that seems to use it. On our toolbar, in the row of custom BB Codes, are a YouTube and a Vimeo button. These buttons will display your video in a larger, fluid (resizes depending on the size of your screen/browser window) HD element. To use these, you simply paste the video's identifier in between the tags. For example, suppose you are watching the video at this link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbu_KLZlCIU

What you would do is grab the identifier to the right of the "=" character, and post the following:

[MYOUTUBE]cbu_KLZlCIU[/MYOUTUBE]

And what you would get is the following:

Notice how if you resize your browser window, the video player resizes as well, maintaining its aspect ratio (the ratio of height to width) while also maintaining the percentage of the parent element (the post content container) as margins on the left and right. :D

You can see which members were on the site last by going to the top where it says Community and scroll down to Member List.

Once that opens, click on Last Visit and you will see at the top who logged in most recently.

You can also see, when clicking Posts, the members who have the most posts.

To see who has the most CH Cash (but not in the bank), I have to click twice on CH Cash to get from most to least.

Play around with stuff like that. Enjoy the site more :)

Have you noticed you can add music to your profile by purchasing the option through the CH Shop? Then you find a YouTube video of the music you want on your profile and Romanos will handle the rest after you give him the link.

My profile has Gloria by Jewel! Listen to it :)

I am once again resurrecting this thread from the archives since we have some new members who might not know about some of our site features!

You can "Star" a post which turns it into a favorite for you to come back to later by clicking on the star folder in the lower right corner of a post. To find your starred posts you go to Quick Links at the top and scroll down to My Starred Posts. I use this feature often!

You can make your PM box larger in size by purchasing the option through the CH shop using your CH Cash. Don't have enough cash? Create a few threads and post more and it will build up. You can even put some CH Cash in the bank through the Shop and return every day to Collect Interest (you have to manually press the Collect Interest button).

You can donate CH Cash to others through the CH Shop as well!

To find where to donate to become a Supporting Member can be found under Settings at the top of your screen and then scroll down to the left clicking on Paid Subscriptions.
