The Denominational forums & Charismatic faith movement forum are not seeing a lot of traffic. I know that some members here are used to having them around. Staff is wondering how you would feel about combining all the threads into one giant forum called Denominational & Faith Discussions. If you want your thread to be denominational or faith specific, there will be a prefix to choose so that anyone outside of that belief will not be able to post and cause disruptions.

Please vote in the poll if you don't mind whether the current denominations threads be combined or if you would prefer they stay as they are. This is your forum as well as ours. Please remember that even if we combine them all now, we can always change it back in later months if we find it needed. :eyecrazy:

I completely agree with the move to combine forums where threads are spread out thinly. This makes browsing the site more efficient, and as stated, if the need to split arises later that can easily be done. :)

Denominations are fighting lines. Growth spiritual always happens outside the box.

It is always better to start a new online forum with a smaller number of individual forums. As the membership grows, then evaluate and see what may need to be added.

I have had a really hectic summer so have not been here as much as I would like to be.

Pretty much my thoughts. I'd rather see more people asking "What does Hesitations 4:18 mean?" rather than hiding from the difficult questions and asking "what does this denomination say Hesitations 4:18 means?"

Maybe the other denominations have it right on that verse and your denomination has missed the mark. Maybe it's one of those difficult verses that people prefer to gloss over because it's prone to break preconceived ideas.

Examples I often use relate to healing - if we want to believe that God always heals we need to explain why Timothy wasn't healed of his "frequent infirmities". If we want to believe God doesn't always heal we need to explain what Ps 103:1-3 means. If all we do is gloss over the subjects and hide from the difficult questions, how do we grow?

Folk may like the idea of one big forum for faith discussions but we already have that in a number of places here so why repeat it? I prefer to have the separate fora for each church/denomination/meeting-group and let them develop as people get used to this place. When there are more members of the Baptist community and the Catholic community then I'd expect traffic in those forums to increase.

Silly me forgot to put a close date to vote in the poll! If you haven't already voted, please do so. I'll probably leave this open until Thursday or Friday.

Time to close the thread. We've listened to what you've had to say, and I'll be taking care of consolidating the Denominational and Charismatic forums into one main forum this weekend. There will be prefixes for those who want ONLY responses from their denominational group. Thank you to everyone who voted and gave your opinions. If we find that the groups need to be returned in the future, we can easily do that.
