There's a concrete brick in the bottom of your washing machine

Okay so maybe not all washing machines have them but the majority of the ones most likely do to counterweight the heavy motor that's in them. Mine became disengaged from it's bracket so now I'm trying to order a replacement and it's almost a hundred dollars! For a concrete block! I could scream.

Yup. Washers have some "dead weight" in the bottom. Otherwise, the movement of the machine would make it move - and you'd have to go searching for your machine every time you wanted to use it. Yeah, a secured brick typically works.

Lucky for me that I have very tiny hands and was able to re-use my existing brick and bracket...AND I didn't have to disassemble the entire washer (tiny hands can maneuver in small places). Testing it out now and it sounds good so far. We'll see how long it holds.

Why couldnt you just go buy a concrete block or two I think they are about three dollars each

I wish!

They have to be shaped a certain way to allow for bolts to slide in on the sides and that's attached to a bracket on top to keep it in place in the bottom pan. There is an overhang shape too so it's not a regular rectangular shape all the way.

Figures they would make it so you would have to pay a rediculous price for it
