Is there a presentable way to approach a church brother whose hearing aid buzzes during church so loudly you cannot focus on the message without shaming him for having to wear the device? I simply cannot bring myself to go up to him and speak of it because I do not want to embarrass him and it could be very well because I lack the proper words to communicate.

You could talk to the minister and ask their advice. It may be the person doesn't know it buzzes (since they need the hearing aid they aren't best placed to hear the buzzing); it may be it's a cheap one that's the best they can afford; it may be that they have to turn it up high to hear it and the buzzing is an unavoidable effect of that. Personally I wouldn't worry about shame associated with using a hearing aid - it's not like they are rare.

If it's something that can't be fixed, or you decide not to approach him, can you just sit somewhere else?

I don't think I could do it. I would try to ignore it and maybe hope someone else lets him know like a relative or very close friend.

I didn't know they buzz, maybe he cranks it up at church to hear the preacher, he should probably sit in the front... does anyone else notice the buzzing?

Thank you for your advice. I believe I will see if an elder can offer assistance to this man as it may well be that he is unaware that a new battery is needed and the elders are very good at being discreet. Thank you again.
