The Arcade

The Arcade is a perk for Supporting Members and there will be times during some holidays that the owner will open it up to all registered members to play.

Ask a Pastor

We currently have one pastor as a member of the forum who is willing to answer questions that any member might have. In order to ask a question, you must go to the sub-forum called Submit Questions Here. Start a thread with your question and it will be forwarded to the Pastor to answer. Please give him a few days in order to pray and compose a response. If you have further questions in relation to the same topic, you may ask in your initial thread in the Submit Your Questions sub-forum. Debating with the pastor will not be allowed.

Avatar

Avatars are small images that people use to identify or distinguish themselves to other forum members. You may set up or change your Avatar by clicking on Settings at the top of your screen. On the left side of the Settings page under My Settings click on Edit Avatar and follow the directions.

CH Cash

CH Cash is the site currency that has no real monetary value. Every time you post or create a thread you will earn CH Cash that you can use in the CH Shop to purchase items such as user title, increase PM box size or donate to Lämmchen's tip jar that will eventually lead to a donation to a charity.

CH Shop

The CH Shop is where you can spend your CH Cash and purchase items such as user title, increase PM box size or donate to Lämmchen's tip jar that will eventually lead to a donation to a charity.

Edit Posts

Members are allowed to edit any of their posts up to 2 weeks. To edit a post click the Edit Post button of the post you would like to edit. You will have the opportunity to give a reason for your edit. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages. If they do, there may not be a note telling other users that the post was modified.

Featured Threads

Featured threads can be viewed from the main page of the site and is maintained by staff. Members can vote for a thread they think deserves to be featured by going to that thread and clicking the Add to Featured button. Members cannot nominate their own threads to be featured.

Member Admin Center

The Member Admin Center is a private area where a member can ask the Admins of the site for help concerning their account, state their concerns or complaints that they might have or whatever else they do not want the public to see.

Member List

If you are looking for a member use the Member List that is found under the Community pull down link at the top of the page.

Moderation Protocol

Christianity Haven operates on a six offense moderation system. While most cases of moderation misconduct will follow this process, the Administrators do reserve the right to deviate from the listed protocol should a case prove necessary.

First offense = Informal PM

Second offense = Informal PM

Third offense = Formal Warning
Fourth offense = Formal Warning
Fifth offense = Formal Custom Infraction
Sixth offense = Ban

My Birthday

If you allowed your birthday to be viewable there is an automated Birthday greeter that will start a thread to wish you a Happy Birthday. You will also have an icon appear for your birth day that members can see.

Notifications

When you have logged into the board, a link to 'Your Notifications' may be displayed in the 'Welcome' box near the top of the forum. 'Your Notifications' will show if you have any one of the following:

Unread Private Messages (?)
Unread Profile Visitor Messages (?)
Profile Visitor Messages Awaiting Approval
Incoming Friend Requests (?)
Requests to Join Your Groups (?)
Invitations to Join Groups
Unread Photo Comments (?)
Photo Comments Awaiting Approval

By clicking on the 'Your Notifications' link, you will be able to quickly see how many of each type you have received. Clicking on any of the links in the menu will take you to the relevant page within the User Control Panel or elsewhere in the system.

Post Limitations

There are some areas of the site that are for Christians Only and the Christian Theology forum is for Christians who adhere to the Nicene Creed and believe in the trinity. Please read the descriptions of the forums before posting because some are labeled as No Debate. Posting in the Games forum will not increase your post count.

Pray Button

The Pray button is similar to the Like button and is not available on every area of the site. Click the pray button to let a member know you are praying for him/her. You will receive a notification when someone prayed for you through the Notification Thanks system.

Private Messages

How do I send Private Messages?

Private messages work a little like email, but are limited to registered members of this forum. You may be able to include BB code, smilies and images in private messages that you send.

You may send a private message to a member of this forum by clicking the 'Send A Private Message' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel (more info), or by clicking the 'Send a Private Message' link in the drop down menu that appears in a member's posts when you click on their username.

When you send a message, you have the option to save a copy of it in your 'Sent Items' folder.

How do I work with Private Message Folders?

By default, you will have two folders in your private message area. These are the 'Inbox' and the 'Sent' Items folders.

The 'Inbox' folder contains any new messages you receive. It allows you to view all the messages you have received, along with the name of the person who sent it, and the date and time it was sent.

The 'Sent Items' folder contains a copy of any messages that you have sent, where you have specified that you wish to keep a copy for future reference.

You can create additional folders for your messages by clicking the 'Edit Folders' link.

Each folder has a set of message controls which allow you to select messages, then either move them to one of your custom folders, or delete them. Once you have selected your messages, you can choose the following options in the 'Selected Messages' box at the bottom of the list:

Move to Folder
Delete
Mark as Read
Mark as Unread
Download as XML
Download as CSV
Download as TEXT

You will need to periodically delete old messages, as the administrator has probably set a limit to the number of private messages you can have in your folders. If you exceed this number, you will not be able to send or receive new messages until you delete some old ones.

If you would like to keep a record of your messages before you delete them, you can use any of the 'Download as..' options listed above to take a copy and store them on your own computer.

Private Message Inbox Size

You can use your CH Cash to purchase a larger inbox size for your private messages in the CH Shop. There are currently 2 different upgraded sizes offered.

Profile

Every member has a publicly viewable profile page. This page includes information provided by the member, either during the registration process or later on via the User Control Panel. There are a number of ways to view a member's profile. Whenever you see a member's name, clicking on it will usually take you to view their profile page. The members list allows you to browse all registered members, and quickly click through to public profiles. When logged in, you can also view your own public profile by logging into the forums and clicking on your username shown in the header at the top of the page.

The public profile lists information about the member under the 'About Me' tab. It also includes statistical information, such as the number of posts they have made and their registration date. This information is shown under the 'Statistics' tab.

Other information includes a list of Friends, their profile picture (if set by the member), and a list of members who have recently visited the profile page.

A list of the members' albums and Group memberships are also shown.

Reputation

To give reputation, click on the reputation icon in the relevant post. This will reveal a form to complete with the reputation type and the reason for giving the reputation. Reputation is a way of rating users depending on the quality of their posts. You can view the reputation that you have received in your User CP (User Control Panel) where it is displayed at the bottom of the User CP page. Here you will see the latest reputation that you have received.
