1 Corinthians 1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

From the verses above, we can read that the "day of Christ", is not the "rapture" of the body of Christ, wherein the body of Christ is caught up to meet the Lord in the air, but rather, it is the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Again, the "day of Christ", is the coming of the Lord.

Paul is not saying, that, our gathering together unto him, or the "rapture", is the "day of Christ", but rather, Paul is saying; We beseech you by "the coming" and "by our gathering together". Paul is saying, it is by these two things, that we beseech you. By these two things, we beseech you, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, that the day of Christ is at hand; the day when Christ comes.

The Lord does indeed come to gather us unto him, but it is not the "day of Christ".

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

The Lord, in his "day of Christ", will come to destroy that "Wicked", the antichrist.
