I think he fully supports large scale immigration -

Just controlled immigration...

Legal immigration...

Not criminal immigration...

And not non-citizen voting...

Arsenios

That, my sibling, is just blather. It's Donaldian slogans without meaning.

I am betting the wall will get built...

I sure hope so...

The only reason Pelosi won't help is because she hates Trump...

No way to be loyal to what is good for America...

Arsenios
The wall is bad for America, financioally, morally, and it will be ineffective as well

I would think he's exhausting all options to get the Congress to concede to the wall. That issue was one of the top issues that got him elected after all. And so far he's kept his promises.
Further, I believe after he's rebuffed by those in opposition to the wall he may realize he can draw from the national security budget and proceed without Congressional approval.

I think he's a businessman. As such he seeks to negotiate until negotiation is deemed impossible by his opposition. Which, come January when the mid-term incumbents are sworn in and the Democrats have majority in the House, is going to be huge.

So far the congress is completely Republican dominated so why does he need to wait them out? Can't he get "wall" funding from his fellow Republicans?

In reality, the wall would yield tens of billions of dollars in savings annually.

Just because the Democratic Socialists were OK with spending many billions more on this same wall when Obama was in office but now will not help protect any American so long as they can foil the President--that's the only real issue, you know--that's not a good reason for any ordinary person to sign on as a cheerleader for them.

I was talking about Republicans in his party not Demcrats and there are no savings as the wall can be easily circumvented which is why I dont support it. I dont blindly follow anyone no matter what the party unlike a lot of Trump supporters

True, but sometimes it is necessary, when a member completely misses the point, to lead them by the hand.

There have been a few Republican NeverTrumpers -- a few -- who have caused trouble, but when the other party is almost 100% committed to destroying the president even if it does great harm to the country...that cannot be overlooked entirely if the post is to be taken seriously. That's like blaming the trees for starting the forest fires in California and, by omission, exonerating the human beings!

As for the savings, yes, what I wrote is absolutely correct. I am sorry if you are uninformed, but if you're just going to repeat what you heard some Democrat Congressman say on the evening news, it needs to be done.

It is what he has said and it is what I believe him to have meant and it is in part why I voted for him...

To call it blather when he has kept his word on all his campaign promises is ill-spirited...

We need overall comprehensive immigration reform...

The wall will force that legislation...

Don't explain, Arsenios. Anything our friend doesn't want to read is supposed by him to be "blather." LOL

China had a wall that did not stop a Mongol invasion.

The USSR and the Warsaw Pact nations had a wall and fences that did not stop the downfall of communism.

The USA may build a wall or fence or "barrier" and it will not stop undocumented immigration.

It's all just senseless blather.

Even Israel's huge concrete walls have not stopped people from infiltrating into Israel.

Walls don't work but they cost a lot.

I voted for Trump as well, and you are right, he wants to control immigration the same way Obama wanted and Bill Clinton wanted ... With a wall and for the same reason, to let the honest ones in and keep the lawless ones out. I haven't been keeping up with the partial government shut down, I know we had government shutdowns before and it didn't really effect the little people.
I personally don't see the wall being built in his first term. I do have a hunch that he will win again in 2020 so who knows, Trump seems to get his way and I support his views although I wish he would stop with the insults but you know... freedom of speech and all, go figure

I didn't vote for Trump (or anyone else for President) but you are absolutely right. Funny how the Libs work: This was the idea of the DEMOCRATS until Trump picked it up, now they've done yet another "180." Pure, absurd, hypocritical politics. And sadly, the puppets of these liberals (like most of the mainstream US press) just plays along.

I'm constantly reminding of another DEMOCRAT PARTY insistence and slogan which they use to repeat over and over like a broken record: 'IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!" But now that the economy is good, it's everything BUT the economy. And I recall last year, all the SHOUTS from the libs about how Trump may have had some sexual mess-up YEARS ago before he held any political office, it's SO horrible that he MUST be removed from office! A lot of the SAME liberals who said that Clinton ADMITTED (finally) to sexual mess-ups with a young intern right in the Oval Office, THAT was nothing.... no one's business.... Hilary threw her under the bus and insisted that "women just make up this stuff about important men". And the liberal press just parroted whatever the Democrats said, as if they were reporting anything or were actually engaged in news. Hypocrasy. With no one calling them on it because most of the press just parrots whatever the Democrat Party wants.
