There is a difference in the gospels preached by Peter and Paul.

It is evident by the preaching of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Below, Peter was speaking;

Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

According to Peter, Christ was raised to sit on the throne of David in the coming earthly kingdom.

Romans 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

According to Paul's gospel above, Christ died for our sins; as our substitute; to satisfy and appease the wrath, justice, and righteousness of God.

The cross of Jesus Christ provided our atonement.

He was buried.

He rose again for our justification.

This is the gospel we are to believe and trust alone for our salvation and eternal life.

Romans 4:24,25 does not say that Jesus is substitute nor that he appeases the wrath of God.

The immediate context is given in this quote:
Romans 4:13-25 For the Promise to Abraham, and to his posterity, that he would inherit the world, was not through the law, but through the justice of faith. [SUP]14[/SUP] For if those who are of the law are the heirs, then faith becomes empty and the Promise is abolished. [SUP]15[/SUP] For the law works unto wrath. And where there is no law, there is no law-breaking. [SUP]16[/SUP] Because of this, it is from faith according to grace that the Promise is ensured for all posterity, not only for those who are of the law, but also for those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all before God, [SUP]17[/SUP] in whom he believed, who revives the dead and who calls those things that do not exist into existence. For it is written: "I have established you as the father of many nations." [SUP]18[/SUP] And he believed, with a hope beyond hope, so that he might become the father of many nations, according to what was said to him: "Thus shall your posterity shall be." [SUP]19[/SUP] And he was not weakened in faith, nor did he consider his own body to be dead (though he was then almost one hundred years old), nor the womb of Sarah to be dead. [SUP]20[/SUP] And then, in the Promise of God, he did not hesitate out of distrust, but instead he was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, [SUP]21[/SUP] knowing most fully that whatever God has promised, he is also able to accomplish. [SUP]22[/SUP] And for this reason, it was reputed to him unto justice. [SUP]23[/SUP] Now this has been written, that it was reputed to him unto justice, not only for his sake, [SUP]24[/SUP] but also for our sake. For the same shall be reputed to us, if we believe in him who raised up our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, [SUP]25[/SUP] who was handed over because of our offenses, and who rose again for our justification.
