Anyone can squander their inheritance...

No mother's son is so high, exalted and mighty that he cannot fall...

If he but hides his God-given talent in the dirt, he forsakes his inheritance...

Because he has hidden away his Gift and made it of no account...

And he thinks he still has what he has not by having hid it...

To which Christ replies:

Mat 25:28-30
Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance:
but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Arsenios
The person was never saved. The parable is not showing loss of salvation.
The prodigal son squandered the inheritance...he remained a son.
The idea that a person can merit their removal from adoption is not supported by scripture.

He had the talent...
He squandered it...
It was taken from him...
He now lives in outer darkness...

Had he not buried it in the ground...
Had he treasured it and multiplied it...
Had he even put it in the bank...
He would not be where he now is gnashing his teeth...

The person was never saved.

Of course not - Look what he DID with his God-Given Talent...

Do that with YOUR God-Given Talent and you won't be saved either...

Same for me and for anyone else...

Not all Israel is Israel. Just because people were born into the nation of Israel, it did not make them chosen by God.
Once again, it is foolishness to interpret the parable of the talents as being loss of salvation.

Nope. Merit or lack of merit is not the basis for our redemption. Once again, your Judaiser theology comes out. Paul called your theology, "anathema."

You argument is with Christ...

I mean, outer darkness is for the saved, ya think???

That is where those who do not profit their Master are sent penniless...

You no profit, you no saved!

My argument is not with Jesus. He was talking to people within the nation of Israel. Not all in Israel are Israel...as shown by the parable. It is interesting to me that you cannot see this obvious fact.
It does not surprise me that a Judaiser such as you, demands salvation by works. Thankfully, God calls your theology "anathema."

Apparently you are now calling God and His word...pricks.
You are correct, however, you cannot kick against God's word while you demand your works as the basis for your salvation.

Apparently you are now calling God and His word...pricks.

I was simply quoting the Risen Christ's words to Saul on the Road to Damascus...

Act 9:5
And he said, "Who art thou, Lord?"
And the Lord said,

"I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."

So you see your words accuse Jesus, not me...

Forgive me, Menno...

Perhaps you need a better translation...
And he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked.
And the voice replied,*“I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,

You forgot to translate the next line Jesus spoke:

"It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."

So you see your words accuse Jesus, not me...

Forgive me, Menno...

I didn't forget. I just didn't quite a poor translation.
