I am fairly certain that is not the generally held Southern Baptist position, but I just wanted to say that I actually like that argument for why the Church SHOULD use leavened bread. Credit where it is due. Well done and well explained.

God bless ya, Bro'!!

Gotta love your heart!

There are some actual “drive-thru” churches where you can pull in, get a 5 minute inspirational message, get prayed for and drive off with your communion package. Who says you don’t have time for church? :Nooo:

That is a convenience store not a church. That such a thing can be thought of as a church is a sign of serious lack of discernment. I do not mean to imply that you lack discernment, brother atpollard, but those who pretend that such a convenience store style drive through entity is a church truly lack discernment.

That reminds me of the episode in one of the original Rocky movies when Rocky stops outside the Priests window to get a blessing before a fight. If you tithe do you get a lucky rabbits foot too?

Last time I was involved in a Seder meal it took almost two hours, of course that was a lot of explaining the various elements and how it portrayrf Christ in it. I would imagine that the participants of the Last Supper would need none of this

I doubt the seder was the most memorable experience after waling and talking with the Lord and witnessing countless miracles.
Freaken man rose from the grave...

Who honestly gives [staff edit] what day it was.

So is there anyone unable to turn from sin?
Is anyone saved who does not turn from sin?

"To all those who falsely insist
that man cannot turn from sin in repentance
and is saved
when he does not so turn from sin in repentance:

!!!ANATHEMA!!!

!!!ANATHEMA!!!

!!!ANATHEMA!!!

I have yet to see a man who is dead in trespasses and sins, will himself to repentance.

You are talking to one...

As an atheist...

First 36 years...

But my Brother, I am not typical...

I am more of a side showing of freaks at a carnival...

The folks who start out like me all end up in prisons, psychiatric locked wards, and grave yards...

And all that repentance did not cure what was wrong in me...

Nor did it give me Life...

But when I fully and finally failed...

God came...

The God I had spent a lifetime denying...

Nobody is all good or all evil...

Each of us, according to who we are, is a mixture...

Some embrace the darkness and die...

Some seek to become cleansed of the darkness...

Man repents, and God heals...

And it takes time...

Sins are persistent...

So we persevere to the end...

God Bless You Menno...

And yes, my real name is...

I am talking to one who may still be dead in his trespasses and sins as he attempts to win God's approval through works and not by God's unmerited favor.
My observation is that you have exchanged on worldview of works for a different worldview of works of which neither are connected to God's gracious, unmerited favor.
You couch your words carefully and twist scripture artfully, yet the core of your soul is not made alive by God's grace. This concerns me about you, Arsenios, for I fear you have never known the grace of God.

If we did (or you did) I am unaware of it.

The Passover meal occured first. That is beyond dispute.
Like it or not, it is far from being beyond dispute. Anyway, are you speculating that a Passover meal occurred first and then what we call the Last Supper occurred right after it?

Thank you for your prayers, my Brother...

I do not seek God's approval by works...

Yet I fear offending Him by bad works...

For when I was dead in trespasses, He gave me Life Eternal...

Palpably and ontologically as the condition of my existence...

This when I had turned from this life and looked only at death...

God is everything to me...

This world is very little...

I do try to be carefully accurate with words...

I speak from first hand experience...

God used the Bible to show me that I am a Christian...

After walking with Him 14 years...

I am not a normal Christian example...

Most find God in their Christian walk...

I, not seeking God, found Him...

I, in a rage for healing...

Sought only the healing of my tormented soul...

And found it only by failing to heal and giving up...

I dont know if that's a joke or a request, but here's the post:

Sorry, that one had flown right on by me...

Getting a Christian Priest's blessing for any enterprise is always a good thing...

Getting the rabbit's blessing by bagging his foot...

Not so much!

You couch your words carefully and twist scripture artfully,

I merely understand Scripture from the 2000 year perspective of the Christian Apostolic Faith...

You remind me of the German Bishops who took over the Latin Church in the 10th century...

They came to us in Constantinople, indignantly demanding to know WHY we had REMOVED the Filioque from the Creed of the Church... And they thought we were telling them lies when we told them that it had never been a part of the Creed... They accused us of twisting the truth... When they found out they were wrong, I am sorry to say, it made no difference... They kept it in on the basis that they could prove it to be true...

We but affirm that which the Church has held to be true in all places and in all times by all...

Arsenios... I fear you have never known the grace of God.

If that fear gives you good reason to pray for me, I thank God for it...

I love God with all I have and with all I am...

And I treasure your prayers...

And I pray for God's Great Mercy for you...

Respectfully: No one finds God in their Christian walk. All are born sinners. Sinners come in all walks of life, from atheist to pious Christian families. Unless God chooses to give life to their deadness, they will never find God.
I can scream with my loudest voice or most compassionate voice that God is present, and in either case, if God does not reveal Himself to sinners, they will never see him.

I got some great news for you, you fear your bad works and yeah, you should be sorry when you do bad things and here's the good news, that gospel that saves, Jesus died for those bad works you have done. Did you know that? Did you know he has forgiven your sins by his death?
