Do you think Trump could be re-elected as President of the United States in the next election?

Sure, but at this time it is just about impossible to calculate what the chances are. That's the way it is with most incumbent Presidents. His popularity is about the same as Obamas was before his re-election, so that doesn't tell us much. I do have a hunch, though, that President Trump might not seek reelection because of his age and because -- unlike most of these guys -- he did and does have a life outside of politics.

He could. His supporters do not appear to care how many times he lies nor how dangerous to USA safety his actions are. If his opponents do not turn out to vote or are excluded from voting for spurious reasons then he could win again.

If the Democrats don't get their act together and give us a good alternative that is not flaming liberal then maybe they have a shot.

From what I've read by some of the supporters they want to re-elect him just to make the liberals mad again.

Since you appear to be perplexed about that, consider that the reason may be because you have completely misjudged the situation. His supporters are backing him, in part because he is the one who IS for protecting their safety.

That's a sound analysis. Although incumbents often turn out to be reelected when their prospects had not looked good, a lot depends on whom the opposition puts up against them. In this case, it looks right now like they will go for an extremist...and that choice will not go down well with most voters.

It looks like it is going to be a crowded field of people running for Democrats at least at first. They showed a story on television about Democrats who have gone to Obama to speak to him about possibly running and there are about 12 names at least. Even Eric Holder said he was interested in running.

Yeh, I would not be surprised if it turns out to be a bigger than normal field. However, I note that you said at least at first. That's correct IMO. The Democrat Party generally opposes large fields of candidates and makes known, in one way or another, which ones it approves of, who should get the campaign contributions, and so on such that the number of candidates shrinks quickly.

It's really hard to say.

It seems to me the people howling the loudest about this or that presidential act that they hate are mostly the ones who wouldn't have voted for him in the first place. Many of them are little more than Democrat howling machines who would be howling and wailing if Jesus Christ himself were in the White House on a Republican ticket.

The way I see it there are two questions. The first is whether Republican voters will support him again, and the second is whether the Democrats can put up a candidate with at least some cross-party appeal. If the Democrats put up another candidate like Hillary Clinton their only hope will be if Republican voters abandon Trump and stay home. If they can find a candidate who appeals to the broad Democrat base while also appealing to the swing voter who may have been put off by the choice between Trump and Clinton and maybe even appeal to some of the more moderate Republican voters, perhaps they could oust him.

Of course if he chooses not to stand for re-election the whole thing is academic.
