I am currently reading Genesis, Judges, Psalms, Isaiah, Mark, First Corinthians and the First Book of Peter for my morning devotions ( I dedicate my reading to two chapters per book, per day). It's a wonderful way to start out the day, to delve into God's Word, to learn a bit about God, something about Israel and maybe even something about myself as I open that Holy Library..

We have been studying John in Sunday School. We just finished up John 21.
We read this section:
John 21:4-15
Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off. When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

My question is this: Who or what was Jesus referring to when he asked Peter "do you love me more than these?"

Currently teaching on the Sabbath at our church, so I'm spending time in Exodus, Isaiah, and especially Hebrews 3 & 4. Looking at the fullness of the Eternal Sabbath Rest of God. I love being in the Word! :)

I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I can read the whole Bible 3 or 4 times a year. Right now I'm in the book of Psalms.

Fish and fishing?

What stood out to me is that there were 7 witnesses.
A parallel of 7 tribes born of leah?

I absolutely love that account. Oh the comfort the disciples must have felt, knowing He really had come back. Grieving hearts were gladdened.

I think Jesus, by that question was saying, commanding, you must love me above all others.

I ask myself this and I can say, yes, nobody on earth matters to me more than Jesus. He is my eternity as no mortal can be.
