I've been taking my blood sugar every day. Changed what I eat for the most part. Now to make my portions smaller...another goal!

My blood sugar has been between 101 and 147 in the past 3 wks. The diabetes nurse wanted me to get below 125 to start and I have on many days. Someone told me about putting 2T of apple cider vinegar in cold water every day and been trying to but ran out of it...lol. It has made my bs lower but doesn't cure. I have been taking 2000 mg. of cinnamon a day and also something called Gymnema Sylvestre (500 mg 3 times a day with meals). I have started on Turmeric and Ginger, too. My doctor approved them. I also take CoQ10, Potasium, Alpha Lipoic Acid. I also have high cholesterol.

Yes
when I asked my endocrinologist about using herbs she said she didn't have an opinion on it because it isn't FDA approved.
But, if it works then go for it

I'm praying for you!

My diabetes journey has been a long and hard one.

I'm so darn stubborn as I love food too much and all the WRONG foods. :(

I got a book on self care from my diabetes educator. It tells how much of foods to eat. We can eat a huge variety of foods but much smaller portions. The book helped me a lot. I also joined some Diabetes Support Groups on Facebook.

Nothing wrong with being stubborn in certain ways, I am, too. When it comes to Diabetes I think we have to remember the consequences of not eating right. I fear going blind and already have blurry vision somewhat at times; we can lose toes, fingers, limbs; then there are are internal organs that can fail and I already have peripheral neuropathy. Maybe it's because I'm getting old these things scare me now. I've gone off the track, too, but get right back on as soon as I can.
