That would be AMAZING as I LOVE mushrooms!! :yumyum:

They were good. As I recall, they had corn, rice, and grains mixed in. Some had cheese as well, so not Vegan

Tofu is best cooked with lots of oil. The oil is a good lubricant which makes it easier to scrape it off your plate into the trash.

SERIOUSLY.....

Only Americans know how to make and eat a hamburger
(Wanna see something so silly you'll burst into uncontrollable laughter? Watch a German eat a hamburger....)

Now, PART of the secret is getting all the ingredients in the right order..... If you put the tomato next to the patty, it all slips apart. If you don't smash the avocado, they just fall out. So, here's the deal: Put the CHEESE next to the patty (both sides of both patties) - they not only add much to the taste but hold the patties in place. Then SMASH the avocado (the video forgot the avocado - heresy!), it not only adds to the taste but will keep the tomato and the avo from sliding around. Oh, and don't put the lettuce next to either - it goes on top of the cheese that is on top of the patties (this will become the bottom of the burger when you flip it over - all hamburgers are eaten upside down). Don't make the bun too big (too much bread ruins the whole thing) - and try to keep it between 3 and 4 inches thick (more is hard to eat). And .... obviously.... it goes without saying..... eat ONLY with hands. Drink stays close and use a straw since your hands will be busy (and slippery) and once you pick up the burger, it's often good to keep it in hand until fully consumed.

OH, and there is the proper American way to HOLD a hamburger, as this video will show....

She has a very small burger and makes it LOOK easier than it is, but she does have the right hand-hold and she does eat it upside down, as all burgers must.

(NOTE, all you Europeans, NO fork, NO knife - they should put German subtitles on this video for all our German friends.)

I may enjoy a good burger and fries once in a while, but the sheer gut bombs that are 'Five Guys' shall never pass my lips...
*Apologies to Josiah...

In and Out triple-triple is the best they come from some fast food place..... But Five Guys are commendable, as are Smash Burgers.

I make my own. On the Barbie. At least one half pounders. Cheddar Cheese, big ripe tomato, lettuce, smashed avo, toasted bun (NOT too big), maybe a LITTLE bit of red onion... a little BBQ sauce or thousand island or maybe just some mayo and catsup. No pickle. No mustard. Done right, it's at least 3 inches thick.

Serve with beer and LOTS of napkins.

Five Guys are okay burgers. I haven't had one in 10 years though but I remember them being very tall!

Avocado in a burger? Never seen that before. Can't stand the stuff.

I think the biggest burger I ever had was two quarter-pounder patties, a fried egg, fried mushrooms, a slice of pineapple, all in a bun. It took a bit of doing to eat that beast but it tasted good. The local burger joint had a name for it that I can't remember now, but I remember the burger.

Well, if the sentiment is sincere, it's misguided. As a Vegan, I
am not in favor of industry putting together chemical concoctions made
to represent (in taste only) meat products. In my view, they might be good
for someone who is transitioning to a vegan diet, but that's it.
Don't expect great health depending on it.

And in the case of this burger, expect to go hungry, or need a meal
shortly after.

The burger (the patty) has 0 fiber. Red flag #1. I understand,
neither do meat burger patties. That's not the point. When you go vegan,
you start to replace the bacteria that feeds off meat and animal fat
in the colon with the beneficial kind that feeds on primarily fiber - fiber from
whole foods.

This fiber (along with vitamins and minerals in whole foods) actually
produces propionate. Propionate is responsible for feeling satiated or
satisfied after enough food. Meat eaters get it to some extent from
the bacteria in their colons and small intestine that feeds on these
products. However, they don't get as much as vegans do eating an equivalent
amount of whole food that is fiber rich.

One of the big reasons new Vegans fail is that they think only in
terms of "Vegan" and "calories". If they are eating processed crap (or
too much of it), especially processed foods that are very low in fiber,
high in salt (actually increases hunger) and high in vegetable oils (provides no fiber,
no minerals and no B vitamins)...

then they are starving their gut bacteria of what it needs to produce
satiety and the feeling of satisfaction from food.

I am in favor of real whole food plant based burgers, but for the
aforementioned reasons I see gimmicks like these as bad for Veganism
and the Vegan message. People are going to feel hungry after eating
this garbage, and that's not good.
