Americans also work more hours than any other country, sometimes they don't have time to cook full meals so fast food franchises thrive in this American condition.
Btw I worked 12-13 hour days and a homemade sandwich hardly fuels an overworked body, in a 30 minute timeframe its convenient to buy a rushed meal in a rushed time. Storing weight is also a natural survival mechanism and has nothing to do with being lazy.
Now get in my belly!

Japanese people work very long hours and eat "fast foods" but their fast foods are not full of salt, sugar, and fat to make them "delicious and addictive"

Correct. Live animals such as snakes, rodents, frog, larva, cut up octopus, shrimp, baby birds, ants and monkey brains do lack salt and sugar.

We are known for our great generosity (as in the Marshall Plan that permitted modern western Europe, Japan and a similar plan for South Korea)...

We are known for economic miracles and business giants...

We are known for winning World Wars 1 and 2...

We are known for putting a man on the moon...

Jeans..... cars...... Hollywood.... the globalization of English....

True - of late, liberals have been too much in leadership and we've fallen behind, as they've tried to make the USA more like the Europe we've twice had to rescue and the Soviet Union we destroyed.

"I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, and I'm proud........."

A little wink but a lot of sincerity, too. I have relatives and friends in Spain, Germany, Denmark - and I often find them more pro-USA than a lot of Americans.

We could be close to an economic collapse (according to Gaurav Sharma, BA) is supposed to equal Our economy's in the toilet??

That's how I see it, Albion. Some are more optimistic, others think we've already been bought and paid for by China. My words, nobody else's. Our economy is in the toilet.

Good to hear from you again, Josiah I agree with what you say:

Americans are known for being fat.

You made me chuckle, but it is really USA folk who have the reputation. I do not think that all people living in the Americas have that reputation :p

It may have more to do with the fact that Americans are more mobile than most other people, drive everywhere, and expect fast solutions to every need or problem. We probably also lead the world in the number of drive-in banks, mortuaries, and churches, too.
