lol If I had gold I could buy all the chocolate I wanted:lol:

A single gold eagle (the current ones, with a nominal face value of $50) is worth something in the region of $1,250. Trying to pay for a bag of M&Ms with what's essentially a $1,250 coin is a real drag. If you ever thought cashiers got grumpy at people who paid for $2 worth of stuff with a $50 bill you ain't seen nothin' yet....

If you really want to push gold coins further try this one:
https://www.mint.ca/store/mint/about-the-mint/million-dollar-coin-1600006#.Wzpgo2gXY1I

It's a 100kg coin with a nominal face value of C$1,000,000 and a gold melt value of a little under US$42,000,000

They do a 10kg version as well, presumably for the more budget conscious investor who has a mere $4,200,000 to invest.

You don't get many 100kg coins to a handful. Thankfully you don't need very many.

Chocolate comes from beans so it counts as a vegetable.
