I am Dianna you can call me Dia (die-ah; some people have trouble pronouncing it i just wanted to make it easier for you!)

I used to be a Catholic, but lost my religion due to unfortunate events. Lately I’ve wanted to come back to my Faith, but I relate more with Non-denominational.

If you have any advice or stories feel free to message I want a community with friends to turn to :)

Hi Dia, welcome to our community.

I too was raised in the RC tradition and after some issues with a priest decided that I could live without it and spent 10 years without a faith and then later rediscovered Christianity.

At that time I became an evangelical Anglican and since then have gradually been shedding the abrasive parts of my faith and now I am a non-affiliated Christ follower with no church associations at all.

I try to be a person who loves our Lord and all that He brings into my life.

So welcome here, this really is a very eclectic bunch, you will find every type of Christian represented here, but if you treat them with respect each one has something to teach us.

Enjoy.

Hi 'Dee-Anna'

Welcome to a 'Haven'

Was Methodist (as a very young child) moved, to Church of England
after the Brothers/ Elders were seen to 'argue' about what they were teaching
Now, non-denominational _
I have a hard time, when considering, the amassed property and wealth, of "The Churches"

Tax Free and, unaudited

I am not envious, but fail to see, where humility and charity fit-in
with their very-apparent 'wealth'

I am nowhere near 'blind' and although I wear spectacles, it is, a recent prescription

I'm alleged, to have 'an eidetic memory'
ie: having seen something (object/scene) will recall seeing it (often, also WHERE /WHEN)
and when returning to it / the page/ the scene _have even also seen changes
made while, I was absent
eg. News items removed from page / image-view has been altered or, images replaced

Example:
I have posted photos of, my roses [photo-collection] on CF
and a friend commented that she had had a "wedding dress" in that particular colour/shade
Immediately she mentioned Wedding-Dress
I recalled her telling me that very same thing @three years previously
and, zipped quickly, through the forum-history, jumping pages ~because I knew of other posts made at a similar date
and, where you find ONE, the other, is close-by
and I copied and pasted the page-link a few minutes later

I also enjoy 'jigsaws' and geology
~theoretical (online study) (field tours cannot be-accomplished)

Hi & welcome to Christianity Haven.

Come back to faith, it is a more pleasant state than lost faith could ever be. And explore a little if you are looking for a community to worship with and to which you can relate.

I am a Catholic and haven't found a better home or a more pleasant state in which to praise God and love my brothers and sisters than in the Catholic Church. So for me coming home is coming back to the Catholic Church. But not everybody wants to do that. So keep in mind that home is always there and you can see what other places are like and if you ever want to return you are welcome - come sit in a comfy chair and enjoy the warmth.

God bless.

Hi Dia and welcome to Christianity Haven. I'm pleased you came back to faith in the Savior. Are you attending any bible studies where you live?

I really want to but since I’m new to my faith I have no idea where to begin or where to even find groups that suit me.

Find a church to join and ask about their study groups. I prefer the ones that are pastor led because pastors at my churches know Hebrew, Greek and history really well to help decipher what the texts say.

The world is full of people with good advice about how you should live your life. In my experience the only way you will really learn what God wants for your life is to learn to listen to Him, not necessarily the people who profess loudly to know what God wants.

She asked for advice in her OP. Was I wrong to direct her to a good bible study since it's God's word that grows us?

Well that depends on your view of church bible study groups really. Let's remember she has been burned before.

If you know what you want in a church or bible study you could research some online, also visit any that are ongoing and see how you fit in and if you like the study. If you are more of a by yourself type then there are some online as well.

The two of you have helped quite a bit with deciding what I should do and the steps I could take. It’s always nice to have options open!

Dia, you may have realised by now that this place has a very mixed bunch of folks here. The great thing, in my view is that even though we may not always agree, we manage to accept that we all care and want to offer honest views.

The task for you is to decide what speaks to you and what God is calling you to listen to.

Welcome and I look forward to hearing more of your story.
