Besides Chick Fila and Hobby Lobby I don't know of many businesses that aren't open on Sunday.

Well, no businesses owned and operated by Seventh-day Adventists are open on Sunday. But, regrettably enough, that doesn't include any of the big chains where most people shop.

I thought they have worship on Saturdays, not Sundays? So then wouldn't their Sabbath rest be on Saturday?

I'm sorry...and you are right. Absolutely, you are. I know an SDA merchant who closes on both Saturday and Sunday, and my mind just wandered when I started to write that.

Blue Laws have existed in the US from colonial days to the present. Up until this year it was illegal to sell off-sale liquor on Sundays in Minnesota (you can thank the Super Bowl being in Minnesota this year for the change). It is illegal to sell cars on Sunday in Minnesota. My bet is there are a lot of Blue Laws still intact throughout the US.

I don't think America is being tricked into anything concerning Sundays. In fact, I see more and more change that businesses are staying open now more instead of closing to give their employees a much needed day of rest. Even the Post Office delivers special packages on Sunday and some states have changed laws to allow liquor sales on Sunday too!

IMO, businesses can choose to be open or closed on any day they want. I'm against LAWS that mandate this.

I know of FEW that choose to be closed on Sundays. Chick-a-filet, Hobby Lobby, Discount Tire/American Tire. Few.

What bothers me are all those youth things and other events scheduled on Sunday mornings! Even the BSA (which claims to affirm faith) at times schedules events on Sunday morning. Soccer games, Little League baseball, etc. - events for children and youth scheduled when it will mean they cannot worship. Youth organizations should not interfere with parents by presented a conflict to worship; I don't think it should be a matter of civil LAW but one of respect for families and worship.

Sunday should be mandated as rest, nothing should be schuled on that day let alone business being open. The other side of that is that if peopel would stop going to stores on Sunday they would have no incentive to stay open

You are right about that. And Poland, which makes Roman Catholicism a defining feature of the nation, certainly is no predictor of something that is coming to the USA.
