Ik hou van mij:
I love me.

I love me
you never hear singing
I love me
is never said
but I love me
I'm going to sing anyway
because I love me, only me and I really mean it, hehehehe!

I love me because I can be trusted
I love me, I can rely on me
I love me, at least I can build on me
I love me and I never let myself go!

I stay with me, and not for a moment
I stay with me, forever and ever
am even willing to give my life for myself
I stay with me until death separates me!

I love you
I sometimes also say
I love you, honey, and I really mean it
but I love you I only say in front of the mirror
that's how I love you comes back to myself again, heeey!

I love me, me me
and no other, yeah yeah!
Because I am by far the nicest I know, jeuh
I do not have to change myself, if necessary
I love myself, just as I am

Because I love you
usually means:
honey, here you have my problems, fix it, jeuh!
I live in hell and expect from you heaven (yes)
You give away hell, no thanks,
go away.

Because love another,
you only need that
because you can not love yourself enough
Love yourself, make the other unnecessary,
for true love, believe me, always begins
with yourself

because I love you is not the key to the other
but I love me, even though it sounds bad and rude
for who loves himself, he only gives something precious
if he says I love you to someone else

I hear this one, and I understand the sentiment behind it, but I also wonder what exactly I'd be "getting back" :scared:
Some things I don't want back! One pastor said it well - "At one moment we're singing about giving ourselves away, then the next moment we want it all back"

I'm sorry. I don't see the humor here.

Could you elaborate please?

Thank you.

It's not what I've won at all. God has done all for me. I've "won" nothing. I want nothing back. God has spared my life, and I am made new. I would not trade the worst of what I have now for the best of what I had. The devil can keep my "stuff". And Mrs. Osteen wants us to "do good for our own selves"? No comment.
So it's tongue-in-cheek and embarrassing at the same time. The one quote I left from the Pastor (see post #7) - here's the other song he was referring to that's much more in keeping with an attitude of humility, asking for nothing back, and making no assumptions about what we've "won":
