Hi guys, I went to the cookout in the heat but we all sat in the shade under the trees.
It was a good time and I think Suzy enjoyed it more than I did. We were out there
a long time and when I went to go to my apt. Suzy didn't want to go home and she
did that stance where she wouldn't move..I had to talk to her about the bacon treat
waiting for her in the apt. She finally came in after I begged her. lol

She certainly does and food and treats are #1 with her!

You'd think the dogs had been starved the way they act...lol...they all love food. Just gave Suzy her bacon treat and took her for a walk.

I think it may have something to do with them being partly scavengers/ hunters naturally....they feel like they have to eat when they see food.....or at very least hord it.....it can be hard to break those sorts of habits.

That makes sense. I don't try to break her habit. I give her treats a few times a day and her food so she doesn't have to think or feel she is starving.

That was true when my dog was alive! She was a little piggy. My husband was the one who shared people food with her even though I told him not to. So then she begged every time anyone was eating and it was so annoying.

Try and put yourself in your dog's shoes. How would you feel if everyone was eating food that smelled absolutely wonderful, and not be allowed to even look at it....
