Generally, I prefer to stay away from media (storytelling by way of movies) that have religious (and specifically biblical) themes or contexts. Often they are entertaining but leave out important elements of the story or twist them in some way to fit preconceived notions or biases.

I agree with this. It's hard to know whose doctrine the movie is imposing on the viewer.

Probably not. I think capitalising on the religious viewers potential ticket purchases is the main motivation. It is fine to have humour in cartoons. Even religious ones. But this one looks like somebody wants money for Christmas shopping on a grand scale. Maybe buy a new studio or take over another film maker?
