We havent been raptured yet, and Jesus hasnt returned yet.
Sooo, yep, still here. (We're here, because we're not all there )

The prophecies in Revelation were obviously written as future events, were still future events when the written bible was completed, were still future events when the KJV was completed, and as the bible has been handed down to us, in 2017 it's still largely a book of future events waiting to be fulfilled. Some say Chapter 4:1 gives a good indication of where we are on the prophetic calendar or events.

As others have stated, those catastrophic events of Pompeii, etc, MAY have been a judgement from God for one reason or another, that's not really our call to make, and as I said earlier, I wouldnt want to be the one to tell somebody that their house was washing away or their land was on fire or some natural disaster was happening because Gods judgement or wrath was pouring out on them.

We're called to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus ..... Gods wrath was poured out on HIM upon the cross, and even those dreadful events yet to come upon the world can be largely avoided for those who put their faith and trust in Him.

Ok fair enough. I still find it eerie how this pagan roman elitist plutocracy was completely destroyed and buried within a day just several years after revelations was written.
      Thats just me tho
This event took place on my birthday so it has always drawn my attention, same as the massacre of St. Bartholomew's day, August 24 1572.
Yea anyway, thanks for the help and understanding.
Here is a fascinating short video of the recreation of the view overlooking pompeii and the volcano on that day, it does look like a biblical type of destruction reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah.
