What are some of the worst Halloween candies out there? Some people hate candy corn but because I can't have chocolate I love it!!

I hated the mellowcreme pumpkins! And those chewy maple candies.

Popcorn balls. But that was when you could still trust the little old lady around the corner not to try to poison you :)
Jolly Ranchers and single-wrapped bubble gum came in a close second

I do not know. Peanut-butter is good and so is chocolate but the particular peanut-butter and chocolate that they use in Reece's peanut butter cups tastes bad.

There was one house I would go to when I was little that would give oranges or apples. What is that about?

They either thought it was more wholesome for the children or else had access to these things and so didnt have to pay for candy. The razor blades/pins in apples phenomenon knocked a big hole in that approach.

I seem to remember reading or hearing somewhere that the whole "razor" thing was totally false, completely made up. That there is not one verified case in all of American history of things like that being put in fruit or candy. Several reported such, even turned in such, but it was determined they did it themselves or the publicity.

True or not, it DID completely change things. My parents report being given fruit or popcorn balls but all that changed. And now parents "have to" go through the candy before their kids can dig in and make themselves sick (but truth be told, parents aren't looking for razor blades, they are looking for candy they can steal)
