If you've ever had surgery, how long was your recovery time? When did you have to stop taking multiple naps throughout the day? When did you start resuming your workout routine again?

My surgeries were all as a baby or child....

I suspect every surgery is entirely different..... every person is different..... and so would be the recovery..... I suspect the doctors would be the best source for what's typical in a particular case.

Only surgery I had was minor sinus surgery and that recovery was only a day for that. My wife had her gall bladder taken out and it took about 3-4 days for her to go back to work. We watched cooking shows for three days and she didn't even cook anything. She is normally a good cook however

It will depend on how invasive the surgery was. In my case I had a double hernia op by keyhole surgery. For me recovery was about a week to get over the immediate pain and trapped gas, and full recovery took about a month.

I know people who have had open wound surgery who took a lot longer to recover, but then the alternatives were far worse!

I've had minor surgeries before but never spent the night until now. I believe my recoveries then were a week until full normal. With this one I had some problems and have bruises all over my arms from the taking of blood, IVs and shots. My tummy sounds like an aquarium is in it.

There can be a lot of factors one being who the surgeon was. Trust me they all aren't created equal. I've had two groinal hernias repaired. The first was on the right side and the second on the left by different doctors. The second one I recovered a lot quicker due to the fact the surgeon did a lot less collateral damage.

Lamm,

I just pray that YOUR recovery will be very swift and complete and uneventful. And that this chapter is CLOSED forever (DONE with the whole cancer thing).

(Sadly, I was so young mine are almost invisible but I could do a close up and maybe enhance it a bit)

I have only taken one photo yet and I will not be posting that online LOL I might take one next week of my neck though. It's still red and swollen along the line where they carved into me but every day looks better and better.
