What are some ways to make new friends as an adult, either offline or online? I find it a bit more difficult to make new friends as an adult so I think this would be an interesting thread idea.

Offline - Usually some sort of shared interest.

I've met numerous people over the years I call friends through shared interest or common workplace. Some are closer than others, but we all have some common interest or circumstance that we can talk/share etc.

My advice is the same as I've been telling members here...ask questions. Whether you want them to return to a message board like here or are seeking friendship, ask them questions! People love to be asked questions because it shows that someone cares or has taken an interest. If you never know what questions to ask them do your research and have questions prepared for such an occasion.

Get out the house might help .. join a sports club, join a church group, look up whats happening in your local area to meet people but I've said all this before and you still haven't done it .. find a job and talk to people there, you had the perfect place to meet people at college but didn't say much to anyone there either....

Thanks for the suggestions. .

Another question I guess..what do you do when someone you used to talk to a lot doesnt talk to you anymore? Do you just forget them or do you try to keep the friendship?

I think it depends on if the other person considers the friendship ended. If so then move on. There are so many people out in the world who want friends!

If you just parted ways because of life then message the person and let him/her know you miss him/her. Then ask some questions...about school, career, family.
