Is it time to impeach Donald Trump?

The last week (up to and including Friday 19 May 2017) has produced an avalanche of errors implications and possibly crimes committed by Donald Trump and members of his administration. Is it time to start impeachment proceedings or will that time come soon?

Would you be happy with Mike Pence as President?

I have friends and family who live in Indiana. Pence is not the messiah to save those from Trump according to what he's done in Indiana in the past.

Whether the time will come or not, I have no idea. It would have a lot more credibility if it came from someone who wasn't calling for him to be impeached before he'd even taken office :p

If there is evidence of crimes it may be that impeachment will be in order. "Errors" could mean just about anything, and "implications" aren't worth much of anything.

It was fun saying "impeach" before he was sworn in

If Congress had a majority of Democrats we probably would have seen impeachment hearings already underway. As it is I think it may have to wait until mid term elections are over and Democrats take Congress back over. Mike Pence seems like a decent person, not sure what kind of President he would be.

The impeachment process sounds really involved:

http://litigation.findlaw.com/legal...achment-the-legal-standard-and-procedure.html

"The involuntary removal of a sitting President of the United States has never occurred in our history. The only legal way such can be accomplished is by the impeachment process."

"Article I § 2 of the United States Constitution gives the House of Representatives the sole power to impeach (make formal charges against) and Article I § 3 gives the Senate the sole power to try impeachments. Article II § 4 of the Constitution provides as follows:

"The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

Oh, I hope not.

The first reason is that the US is giving the rest of us a whole lot of comedy with Trump at the helm.

The second reason is Mike Pence. At least with Trump, the whole country goes down together. My LGBTQ friends in the US are terrified of the prospect of a Pence presidency. They'd be going down alone.
