I love the Chicago Bulls but haven't even had an opportunity to sit down and watch a game this year!

I used to watch a lot of American football on the TV with my dad, but since his passing, I have no desire...it's just not the same. :(

My fave spectator sport is baseball; that's typically the one sport I watch in person. On TV, I'll also watch gymnastics, soccer and women's beach volleyball (j/k) but I don't really follow these. I'll watch the super bowl but that's the only American football game I'll watch.

My fave participation sports are swimming, volleyball and basketball. I did a lot of surfing when I was a kid but I don't even own a board anymore.

I used to be a big fan of Michael Jordan back in the day. ;)

Baseball is better at the park. We only have a triple A team but we like to catch a couple of games per season.

I could never get into watching baseball (or playing!). We used to get free White Sox tickets when we made the honor roll and my neighbor's dad would take us all to the park for the games. He would seat us way high in the sky so we couldn't really see much LOL So no wonder I wasn't into the game.

I mostly watch a major league team, but we have a single A team nearby and I try to catch a game or two there. Yeah.... obviously these young guys are not near the level of the majors (it especially shows in defense and errors) - it's pretty much on a par with college baseball - but there's lots of passion and it's lots of fun, all in a MUCH more intimate park and for a fraction of the price. Good times. And if you really watch these guys, a few end up in the majors and you can say "I knew them when....."

Lamm -

Yeah, baseball is a summer sport, meant to be relaxed. Like cricket, it's not meant to be the fast pace of basketball or any of the net games (try pickleball if you want FAST) but there is just as much skill and at least as much smarts - just at a summer pace. Yup, it's best watched on a warm summer day..... shirt off (well, GUYS)..... beer in hand.... with friends (with whom you can softly talk during the game; baseball is intensely social).... while enjoying the weather and fellow fans....

I agree, baseball on TV is just not the same experience. Good, but not the same. You'll actually SEE more if you watch it on TV but it's just a different experience.

I played Little League as a kid and so learned the skills and intelligence of the game.... they aren't so obvious to others, I suppose. I enjoy playing the game, too (although it's rare and hard to get enough players together) - especially a fun coed, slow-pitch, very social game - lots of fun.

Now, an intense game of beach volleyball or perhaps a half court game of basketball with some high school or college guys - THAT will cause LOTS of sweat, a real work out and a good night's sleep....

Yeah the major's calling up minor league players is kind of bitter sweet. On one hand you're glad to see a guy get a shot at the big league and on the other hand just when your minor league team starts winning games it like they pull the rug out from under them. Oh well what can ya do?

Not sure really. I think it depends on which kind of cricket. For test cricket it may be England ... maybe, for one day it is Australia, for the 20 overs kind I guess India ...

Football, I'm for the Philadelphia Eagles.
I have absolutely no idea what they're doing nor what a yard or a touch down is but I simply yell: yay! yay! yay!
And my soccer club is Ajax. No idea what they're doing either, never watch it, but to do the kids a favour I'm an Ajax supporter.
