Winter comfort foods/drinks

Some people prefer hot chocolate in the winter for comfort. Some a nice hot bowl of soup. What foods/drinks do you enjoy on a nice cold winter's day?

My mom makes THE most awesome beef stew....

Of course, for me, a COLD winter's day is anything below 60. Maybe 3 or 4 times during the year, the temp will not rise above 60.

My husband and I went to the Farmer's Market yesterday looking for stew since a neighbor said they sell it there but there was none at all. He was so disappointed!

I miss farmers markets. There are a few out this way, but 'Eastern Market' in Detroit is a bonanza! Lots of fun. They open early for restaurant supply, then for the public. Could always come away with huge bargains. Michigan always had good roadside stands as well.

For me, Chili is a good winter food, sometimes a stew. 7-11 Peppermint Mocha hits the spot for not much $$

Well since we all gave up eating meat in my house, we tend to make a lot of our own foods again, I love veggie soup and crusty warm bread, drink I gave up coffee and now drink lemon tea or peach tea. or just hot water and a slice of lemon..

I wish I could drink tea again!! My allergies have limited me so much in good comfort foods. Are there certain brands you like of tea?

It's like herbal tea really .. since I stopped eating meat and dairy I now don't drink cows milk so have black coffee and don't drink normal tea.. only milk in the house is soya based on something similar..

I made beef vegetable soup yesterday and it was really good. I always make enough to freeze some and have leftovers for a few days.
