It looks like when you go into the Arcade that the themes are messed up.

Could you be more specific? It looks fine to me, at least in the style I use. :)

On the vb3 default theme, the bordering around the navigation bar is missing, and it seems after looking at the BlueTang theme that the links at the top are pushed down a bit.

Those issues are unrelated to the CSS I added to the arcade. The toplinks element in the Blue Tang styles is not getting CSS in the additional.css template added for some reason. I have no idea why.

Okay, I tracked down the issue and resolved it. In the template "ARCADE" there was no call to the "headinclude_bottom" template, which in turns loads the "additional.css" template. So, I added $headinclude_bottom beneath $headinclude in each active style.

Beware the leaven of objects and design patterns .... you remember the warning about the scribes and Pharisees ... same thing :)

CSS and other "include" oriented bits and pieces in web page coding can make finding errors difficult because the code for a given page is scattered over many files/modules rather than being in one place. Design patters also seem kind of like bloated fashion frills appended to one's code. There is a case for their use in particular sorts of software problems but people have adopted the view that using patters is good so they use them everywhere and end up making their systems messy incoherent and bloated with object hierarchies that are fundamentally bad design and coding practise.

Most vBulletin pages share a lot of common elements, and so these are separated into auxiliary templates that can be called as needed, including style specific CSS. But yes, it did take some searching to figure out which element was missing, and where it needed to be added, especially since one would assume we would be using the "ARCADE_vB4" template rather than the "ARCADE" template, but a check in the external script "arcade.php" reveals this is not the case, even when running vB 4.x.x. Go figure.

I wonder if there's any good bulletin board software that uses Python for scripting and page dynamics
