I miss Bailee and so does Danny. Nothing is going to bring her back even though if I could will it I would have already! She was too young to go.

Anyways I have cleaned all of the birdie things really good and prepared to bring a new bird into my apt. I know it will make Danny happy. The only thing I am worried about is the cost of avian vet bills. I spent $500+ for 2 visits in 2 mos. and that is way too much in my opinion. That seems like more than what a human would pay to see a doctor. But it is the first time in raising parakeets in 16 years that my birds have both gotten sick one after the other like that and required care. So I am weighing the pros and the cons.

Danny is doing okay now. I think his grief has ended. He is happily singing and flying and playing again. He is eating normally again, too.

So, I ask myself do I want to do this?

If you can afford both and your vet doesn't think there is anything contagious left behind from the other bird then why not :)

I am on disability and money is scarce. If they get sick my savings will be gone in no time.

Perhaps that is something you need to resolve in your mind. Either not get a bird or else use prayer for healing rtather than your savings, thta is a huge step in faith if you do
